I was watching Smackdown last night and I noticed that most of the people in the arena were booing Edge will he was talking about how he got hurt and had to give up the title. And I was just thinking to myself, that i didnt seem like ANYBODY had ANY respect for Edge and what he has done. I wanted to bitch slap every single person in that arena. It really pissed me off.
What does anybody else think about that?

I KNOW! I HATED THAT CROWD! I thought they must have been thinking it a cheap way for Edge to not fight Kane and thought it was fake, but then when he told them how he was injured etc. they still boo'd. I was very mad at them and wanted to beat them all up for being so damn UNAPPRECIATIVE of Edge!

the common wrestling fan is an idiot with no respect they cheer for who wwe wants them to cheer for
Edge is a heel, his job is to make people boo him. The wwe plays up fake injury angles so often that you cant expect the fans to take everything at face value.

Yep, Exactly what Will Said, he wants the fans to boo him, if it was someone else though like a face and they booed then there would be no respect

Edge has the PERFECT foundation for a champ. 2001 KOTR, 5 IC title reigns, 3 World Tag champ reigns, 10 WWE Tag Title Reigns and he is a 2X WWE Champ. He has been in the company over 12 years and kept the same gimmick.(Which is kinda rare) He has feuded with everyone from HHH to The Undertaker. Plus he has been in several great matches. He is an athlete, he is a main eventer and he is a champ.

I agree with just about everything that you said, except the same gimmick part. You remember The Brood, with Christian and Gangrel don't you?

I can't believe you're mad at people for booing a heel.

Thats right will said it, he's a heel he's got to get booed or he's not doing his job. It looked like he did a good job to me. It just sucks that he had to give the belt up. But as they say the show must go on.

Theres no doubt that Edge is a great performer, and it is sad to see yet another injury take place at the height of his career. But I can't blame the fans for booing, since he is a heel and played it out for a long time. They won't turn and cheer just because he is injured and had to relinquish the title. I have to say though, that Edge seemed sincere throughout that speech. We all know about the injuries he has been through, and came back from. In a little under half a year, we will see him back, and I can guarantee that he will be in the title picture within a month or two. I have a lot of respect for the man behind the shades, and that won't change.

well, i agree that hes a heel and they should boo him on a normal night, but he was crying a little and you could tell that he was really emotional about having to give up his world title. they dont have to cheer, but they should at least let him talk without booing every 5 seconds.

It's because Edge is such a good heel that the fan's won't show him respect because basically he hasn't showed them any. It's was how the angle was suppose to come off and the WWE were succesful at it because of Edge's charisma and mic skill's. Remember the WWE crowd aren't full of smark's. There full of mark's who boo the heel's and cheer the face's. No offence to any mark's on the forum.
