What do you all think 'Things are looking up' means and who it is meant for? I think it's possibly Elijah Burke, he as a '4-Up' sign thingy on him. Thoughts?

That could make sense with the 4-UP thing as it does fit with the Things are looking up and I will definitely tune in next week to find out as the possible "child" is now been blown open

So Many Meanings

The clue that was given at the end of Monday Night Raw in regards to identity of the illegitimate son was hard to figure out. That was the intended purpose of the clue.

It's a great marketing ploy that should cause ratings to skyrocket next Monday nights.

There's no less than a dozen wrestlers who the term can be applied to.

Mr Kennedy

Word broke out on the internet a while back that Mr Kennedy was indeed the illegitimate son.

The WWE claims that they don't pay attention to the internet, but we all know they do. They know that word broke out. They also know that in order to keep this storyline interesting is to throw out some swerve.

There's going to be a handful of fans who will accept it as fact that Mr Kennedy isn't the mystery son simply because they hear a representative on TV saying it.

Those fans are probably new to the world of wrestling because swerves have always been a part of the game.

Possibilities

The term "things are looking up" could be used to describe a variety of things. It could be the way a wrestler does his entrance or taunt. It could be used to described a wrestler who is tall. The phrase can also be used to describe a wrestler who is moving his way up the ladder.

Entrance

Several wrestlers have entrances and taunts that have them looking up.

Mr Kennedy looks up towards the ceiling as the microphone is lowered to him. Shawn Michaels looks up towards the sky as the fireworks go off behind him. Rey Mysterio gets launched into the air during his entrance.

Sabu is another person that looks to the sky when he taunts, but his return would be one of the biggest swerves ever in pro wrestling.

Height

With the Great Khali, everyone in the WWE has to look up to stare him in the face because he's just so tall. Even guys like the Undertaker, Kane, and Batista have to look up to see him.

Another tall wrestler who is a free agent is the Big Show. It's a bit doubtful right now that he would return because he's still a bit upset with the WWE in regards to his pay from merchandise sales.

Then again, in wrestling, you never say never. Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan have butted heads for years over money, but they eventually find a way to kiss and make up.

Closing Thoughts

Regardless of who the mystery son turns out to be, the writers have done their job and create a storyline that has increased interest in the product.

"It's Val Venis, he used to quote "things are looking up" whenever they showed him around women, because he is an ex-porn star.

Remember it is a superstar that was ring side when they first made the annoncement! If the person you have listed was not standing at the ring than it is not them. I'm telling you it's Val Venis, like someone said, "Just like Vince" an entertainer, foritude etc. It's Val Venis!!!"

"Dude... "Things Are Looking Up" from the musical "Crazy for You."

Crazy = Psycho

Looking Up = 7 Footer

Psycho Sid is coming back."

"The mystery son is still Mr Kennedy. They're just trying to trick people into thinking that it's someone else.

CM Punk would be an interesting choice, though, because they can go so many ways with the storyline because of the Straight Edge gimmick."

"Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

"Things are looking up" would hint towards the illegitimate son being tall, so it might be Khali. I hope not. For a second, I thought it might be a returning superstar (like Jericho, for example) but now I remember that night when Stephanie told Vince his illegitimate child was a WWE Superstar, she also mentioned that his child was standing around the ring at that very moment. Returning stars (like Jericho, and also Triple H and Shawn Michaels) were not around the ring so it wouldn't make sense if one of them turned out to be Vince's son. This sudden twist has got me really stumped. I can't figure it out. I was so convinced it was Kennedy, so now it's like, who else could it possibly be? "

I almost bet no matter who the son is it will be another waste of our time and all of it just for ratings.

My first instinct was that it was going to be Khali, but I don't see it being that simple. I'm sure it'll be someone on RAW anyways since that is their #1 show, but at this point if it isn't Kennedy than I have no clue who it'll be.

They're bringing the Big Show back! This would then mean Shane, Vince's son, once had his face in his father's ass and the Big Show, Vince's illegitimate son, once had his father's face in his ass!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I just found something could help us determine what the hint is...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0027090/

Anyways there's a movie called "Things are Looking Up" with characters called, The Chairman, Mr Money, and Mr Money's Son.

Coincidence?

Mr. Money? Could it be a former MITB winner? So with that said either Kennedy or Edge :D

Well they already said that it wasnt Kennedy on RAW and wasnt Edge on the list of wrestlers that just got busted and suspended? So how about another guess?

Just because they said it wouldn't be kennedy doesn't mean it wont be. They are most likely trying to swerve in a different direction

Don't be shocked if it's Carlito, or even Hornswoggle...I have a bad feeling this storyline will go into bs mode

yeah, it'll prolly be Hornswaggle, and this storyline would prolly turn into a comedy skit....i kinda feel bad for the whole WWE creative team right now... this year was supposed to be a BIG year (storyline wise) for them, and one by one, each time a storyline roles out, bad things happen for them....like how Vince Mcmahon died, and then Chris died afterwards..and now this!!!

This is WWE were talking about....since when have things said week before meant anything. Us WWE fans are meant to have short memories! I wouldnt bank on the 'son' being around the ring when Steph said it. Back then it was still meant to be Kennedy.
Remember Kane was a burnt monster who couldnt speak properly!

Can't see it being Burke personally. This is the biggest storyline right now and will no doubt be intended to run for months with PPV headline matches involved, I think they will have to give it to a proven performer. Don't get me wrong, i think Burke is a great wrestler.....but his lack of TV time on a major brand would lead to the revealing of him as son to be a bit of a flop i reckon.

^ Oh I'm sure it's somebody on the current roster and they really could use almost anybody because that phrase that was said can mean just about anything. All in all when it's over it will most likely be a big let down.

WWE is a clever company....but i really dont think they would go as far as making up a movie on a database just to fool internet readers

Yeah Carlito's dad is a wrestling promoter lol. Hornswoggle could be a possibility but I'm thinking not.

There is three threads on this subject so I'm making one thread.

I think that would be kind of stupid also, but it would be a good way to push him. Pushing Snitsky is like pushing the guy that cleans the toilets at WWE head quarters. Wait the guy that cleans the toilets may be ah lot better.

Vince really wants Snitsky to get over. but he must realise by now its not gonna happen. the fact the crowd is near silent everytime he 'destrys' opponents dosnt bode well for him as a main event star

I think it would be cool if it where Kane, because Kanes' dad was supposed to have burnt him in the cosit or something, then then would mean it where Vince, then Kane could make his whole career on making Vinces life a holey hell, leading up till WM24, where Kane makes Vince give him a title shot. But on the way there, Kane like torchers him, by hanging him, catching him on fire, till vince "DIES" for real(Only tv real if that makes sence) and that give Vince of of tv, and behind the scenes, and Kane would be the new top guy.

If do do that thou they will have to take Kane and put him on Raw. Not a bad idea but they can't take another one of Smackdown's big names and put him back on Raw. I'm not sure who but I think it will be somebody thats on the Raw roster.

No, the storyline was that Undertaker burned Kane and his parents. I honestly don't have a clue who its going to be, unless it is Kennedy, but I doubt it will be Kane.

is anyone else surprised that on the wwe.com poll STEVEN RICHARDS is a top choice for the "child"?

Will
09-11-2007, 02:51 AM
Im not surprised. There are people that have nothing better to do than mess with polls and can make it say whatever they want. If Stevie is at the top, its probably due to some kid in boise with too much time on his hands.
