Dr. Phil Astin, the doctor to Chris Benoit who was charged with illegally dispensing medication to several patients in the wake of the Benoit family tragedy, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on 10/1. Astin's petition listed his assets as between $0 to $10,000, and liabilities of between $0 to $50,000. Those are the default numbers the bankruptcy software uses when the full schedules are not prepared. No Trustee to Astin's estate has been appointed yet. Astin is still expected to face additional charges as the investigation into his medical records continue.
