Tonight’s show is dedicated to the memory of Kevin “Angus” Sinex who was tragically killed in an accident after the Slammiversary pay-per-view this past Sunday night. After the dedication, footage of Slammiversary is aired and we will witness the fallout from that event tonight on Impact.

The Impact intro airs and we are welcomed to the show that will feature a lumberjack match between Kurt Angle and AJ Styles and both the World Championship and Tag Team Championship will be defended in matches during tonight’s broadcast. Speaking of title matches, one will be kicking off the show and that will be for the TNA World title.

Match 1: Kaz vs. Samoa Joe (TNA World Championship)
It appears that the wrestlers and the referees are all wearing black armbands in memory of Sinex this week. The bell rings and we a treated to a nice series of moves back and forth between Kaz and Joe to start this match out as Kevin Nash is seen watching a monitor intently backstage. Joe is able to gain the advantage and goes for a nonchalant cover after a hard clothesline but Kaz manages to roll Joe up and try for a pin attempt of his own. Kaz is then able to dodge a series of punches by Joe and nearly gets the win after landing a springboard leg drop.

That isn’t enough to keep Joe down as he comes back with a quick slam and picks up a two count. Joe then delivers a powerbomb and gets another two count and Joe then turns his pin attempt into an STF submission but Kaz is able to reach for the rope to make Joe break the hold. Kaz then comes back with a drop kick but Joe, too, is able to grab the rope to break a pin attempt.

Kaz goes for a high risk move but Joe is able to kick him in the head and set Kaz up for the muscle buster, but Kaz counters into a neckbreaker and nearly gets the win with a pin attempt. Joe again fights back and places Kaz on the turnbuckle and is able to land the muscle buster and picks up the pin fall.

After the match, Booker T appears on top of the entrance ramp as we head into a commercial. We return to the match to see Booker congratulate Joe on his win against a person the likes of Kaz. Booker then tells Joe that the fans don’t like him and says that he had him beaten in the middle of the ring at Slammiversary and wants an explanation. Joe begins to talk and Booker cuts him off and says that his locker room door is wide opens and he wants Joe to show him what kind of champion he really is.

Lauren is backstage with Kurt Angle, who says that he just got a letter from the Spike TV president saying that his wife just signed a contract with TNA and is now officially a part of the TNA talent roster. Since he is allowed to hit women, Angle has put out a hit on her tonight and says that there will be a woman in the locker room that will be coming after her. Angle then finishes with a warning stating that Karen Angle’s first official night in TNA will be her last.

Mike Tenay briefly hypes the World X Cup and we are sent back to Jeremy Borash, who is backstage with Team International captain, Davari. Davari speaks in Arabic and says that he is bringing his friends Doug Williams, Tyson Dux, Alex Kozlov to be a part of his team. Raisha Saeed then comes out and says that next week Kong will go back to work and take out on person at a time she will no longer be gentle.

Match 2: Team Japan vs. Team TNA (World X Cup Preview)
Representing Team Japan is Naruki Doi and Masato Yoshino, while the Motorcity Machine Guns are representing Team TNA. Shelley and Doi start out the match and chain wrestle to a stand still. Both tag in their partners and Yoshino shows off his speed with Sabin. Shelley is tagged back in and is able to get a two count after a MMG double team move.

Yoshino is able to turn the tide with an octopus submission and both members of Team Japan work over Shelley with very quick tags in and out of the match along with double team moves. After taking some severe punishment, Shelley is able to counter their quick moves by sending Yoshino out to the floor and sending Doi face first into the turnbuckle.

Shelley then tags in Sabin and looks to turn the match into their favor but Japan’s speed keeps them in the match. However, the MMG’s are able to finally isolate Yoshino in the ring and land a double superkick and Sabin is able to pick up the pin fall to put an end to this very fast paced match.

Jeremy Borash is backstage with Karen Angle who thinks Kurt Angle will call off his hit once he comes to the realization that this whole situation has gone on too far. Karen then asks Borash to find out what Kurt Angle is up to. The Beautiful People then come out and Love tells Karen that they never liked her in the first place. They then try to give her the brown bag treatment until AJ Styles comes to her aid. Styles tells them that if anyone wants to get to Karen they will have to get through him first.

Lauren is with Kevin Nash who tries to pry out his thoughts on whether or not he helped Samoa Joe retain the title at Slammiversary but Nash tells her to come to her own conclusion. Samoa Joe then heads out to the ring with a microphone and interrupts and tells Nash to come out to the ring and say it to his face if he has something to say.

Nash comes out to the ring and wants to talk in private but Joe won’t have any of it. Nash tells him that maybe he should be thanking him and tells Joe that he can’t beat Booker T since Booker is already in his head. Joe doesn’t like what Nash has to say and tells him to stick his opinions up his ass and leaves the ring.

Jeremy Borash is backstage looking for Kurt Angle and finds him with Scott Steiner, Petey Williams and Rhaka Khan but Steiner chases him out of the room.

Match 3: James Storm & Robert Roode vs. the LAX (TNA Tag Team Championship)
Homicide tries to make quick work out of Robert Roode to start this match out but Roode is able to kick out of the pin attempt. Roode tags in Storm who also gets worked over quickly by both Homicide and Hernandez until Roode interferes as hangs Homicide across the top rope as Jacquelyn has the referee distracted. Jacquelyn then begins to choke Homicide with a belt as both Storm and Roode isolate Homicide in their corner. Homicide is able to finally counter a body slam from Roode and tags in Hernandez who tosses both Roode and Storm around.

Hernandez sets Roode up on his shoulders and Homicide is about to jump off the top rope but Jacquelyn causes a distraction, which allows Roode to escape and he sends Hernandez flying into Homicide. Jacquelyn then gives Storm the belt, who wraps it around his boot and Storm is able to kick Hernandez in the face as Hector Guerrero is trying to bring the belt to the referee’s attention. It’s too late, though, as the damage has been done and Roode picks up the three count to steal the titles away from the LAX.

After the match, Hector Guerrero frantically explains to the referee about the belt some more as he looks on dumbfounded. We head to a break and upon returning the referee has taken the belts away from Storm & Roode and restarted the match. Hernandez tosses them around and takes Storm down with a powerbomb and picks up the win.

After the match, Roode enters the ring and takes the LAX and Guerrero out with some stiff chair shots. All three are then handcuffed to the ropes and steal some belts from fans and the referee and begin laying in them with the straps. Storm, Roode and Jacquelyn then celebrate in the ring with the tag team belts.

Suddenly we are sent to the back where there is an altercation in the makeup room between Gail Kim & ODB against the Beautiful People. People try to separate them all and Kim will be taking on Sky up next.

Match 4: Velvet Sky vs. Gail Kim
As Sky is attacked from behind by Kim as she is coming down to the ring. Kim has her knee taped up but still is able to fly around the ring and use her technical skill to her advantage until Sky rakes her eyes and goes straight for the knee by ramming it against the ring post. Sky continues to focus on the knee and even locks in a figure four. Kim is able to reverse the figure four but has to break it after Sky reaches the ropes. Kim still fires away at Sky with clotheslines but misses with a leg drop from the top rope. Sky then tries to give Kim the brown bag treatment but Kim kicks her in the head and drops her with a neckbreaker and picks up the pin fall. After the match, Gail Kim gives Sky the brown bag treatment before leaving the ring.

Mike Tenay and Don West recap what happened after the match between the LAX and Roode & Storm, who are now backstage with Lauren. They say that they are waiting for some retaliation and they are looking for a fight.

Match 5: Alex Koslov vs. Curry Man (World X Cup Preview)
Curry Man and Koslov go back and forth with an arm bar to start this match out. The two then have a dance off until Curry Man takes Koslov down with a drop toe hold. Curry Man looks to go for the spice rack but Koslov counters into a Russian leg sweep. Koslov then jumps off the rope for a springboard splash and picks up the three count.

Jeremy Borash is backstage with Sonjay Dutt who offers no comment about breaking up the wedding last Sunday. Dutt then leaves as Samoa Joe walks by and up to Booker T who offers him a shot at the title at Victory Road. Booker says that he didn’t think he had it in him and respects him for it. Joe is about to leave but first tosses Booker a set of keys. Joe tells him that it does smell like urine in the locker room and lets him use his and says he won’t be needing it anymore.

Match 6: Sonjay Dutt vs. Consequences Creed
Prior to the match, Dutt gets on the microphone and dedicate his match to SoCal Val and offers her to come down and seal the deal with a big kiss after the match is over. The match starts and the two go back and forth. Dutt finally gains control for a time after landing a springboard dropkick but Creed fights back with hard clothesline in the corner and picks up a two count after another hard clothesline. Dutt, however, comes back with a mule kick below the belt and finishes Creed off with the Hindu press.

After the match, Jay Lethal storms out to the ring and lays in a few licks on Dutt before he runs out of the ring. With SoCal Val looking on, Lethal cuts a non-Macho Man promo and challenges Dutt to a match next week at the Pink Taco where Lethal’s bachelor party took place last week.

The lumberjacks, Team 3D, Tomko, Christian Cage, Rhino and Matt Morgan are shown making their way to the ring as that match is up next.

Match 7: Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles (Lumberjack Match)
Frank Trigg joins the broadcast team for this match. The bell rings and Styles slams Angle down, who goes out to the floor and is quickly ate up by the lumberjacks. Angle is tossed back into the ring and charges at Styles who ducks out of the way and Angle again goes out to the floor with the same result. Styles nails Angle with a flying forearm and picks up a two count but Angle comes back by raking his eyes and tossing him out of the ring.

The lumberjacks go after Styles, but he is able to move out of the way and go back into the ring on his own and dodges a drop kick from Angle and answers back with one of his own. Styles goes for the cover but Brother Ray pulls the referee out of his position to break the count. Styles tries to continue on the attack but Angle dumps him out to the floor and the heel lumberjacks go after Styles as the other three get involved. As the lumberjacks are brawling in the ringside area, Team 3D takes Rhino out with a 3D on the floor, which sends us into a commercial break.

We return to the match and see Styles in control as he nearly gets a three count after a back body drop on Angle. Both Ray and Morgan distract the referee, which keeps Styles from pinning Angle and winning the match. The lumberjacks begin to get more involved in the match and Angle is able to land the Olympic slam on Styles after he was hung up on the rope by Brother Ray and Angle picks up the pin fall.

The lumberjacks continue to fight in and out of the ring after the match is over and Devon and Tomko bring a couple of tables into play but before they can be used, Abyss comes out to the ring and lays out the heel lumberjacks and Angle with some clotheslines. Abyss then chokeslams Tomko through a table as the rest of the lumberjacks begin fighting up the ramp.

In the ring, Styles mounts a comeback and gets Angle on a table but Angle moves out of the way as Styles tries for a frog splash. Angle locks in the ankle lock until Karen Angle comes out and dares Angle to hit her. Awesome Kong’s music hits and she comes to the ring and grabs Karen before cracking her in the head with her fist. Angle then lays Styles next to Karen as the two are both out and Impact comes to a close.
