A Blissful Ass
01-30-2010, 01:43 AM
The venue is Manchester MEN Arena. Only half of the building is being used, but the half in use is pretty full. Around 4-5 thousand in attendance.
Global Championship: Rob Terry (c) Defeats Eric Young

Rob had to work pretty hard to win the crowd over, but got there in the end.

Jeremy Borash informs the crowd that Kurt Angle had "just entered" the building.

”The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero defeats Rhino.

Crowd was split pre match with dueling chants for a couple of minutes...until Rhino got on the mic and heeled us.

Four Way Ladder Match: Daniels versus Hernandez versus Samoa Joe versus AJ Styles (c): A.J. Styles wins with a Styles Clash on Daniels.

Styles gets on the mic and refuses to wrestle. TNA President Dixie Carter gets on the mic and forces A.J. to wrestle in a Four Way Tornado Match with tags. Two men are in the ring at once with the TNA World Heavyweight Title on line. Big WE WANT LADDERS chant in the opening minutes as AJ had the ladder taken away...and the ladders did not come back.

AJ had the figure four on Hernandez at one point.

The crowd hated ladder bait and switch.

AJ and Daniels worked together at first, but that did not last.

The ladder business was bizarre. They even had the hook down and raised it when AJ said so. Decent tornado match, and the crowd got into it, but Disappointed at no ladders.

Dixie Carter came out after the break to the ring.

Her Twitter friend Jane was with her who was the first to tweet Cross The Line. She then put over the fans some more and asked us to enjoy the rest of the show. She may have had her son with her.

A twenty minute time limit is announced for the match between Kurt Angle and Desmond Wolfe.

Desmond heels the north of England big time. He wished he was in London. Got nuclear heat by saying Chelsea would win the league.

Kurt Angle defeats Desmond Wolfe

Good 15 min match does with Angle reversing the Tower of London into an Angle Slam for the pinfall victory.

A big Chelsea Rent Boy chant broke out during the match and Desmond’s reactions were excellent. Match started slow with Desmond working over the arm and the last half saw some good exchanges. Good house show match...they did enough to get the match over. Angle paraded with the Union flag afterwards to a big ovation.

Sarita and Taylor Wilde def. Beautiful People with Guest Referee Hamada. Velvet hit Hamada, who headbutted her back and counted the pin.

Table Match: British Invasion versus Beer Money versus Team 3D

Beer Money gets the crowd going by helping to hand out backstage passes. Invasion swipe them to many boos (and perhaps booze...)

3D come out wielding a table. Ray finds out again the hard way that getting cheap pops with sport references in the UK is a minefield.

Solid Beer Money chant in the early parts of the match.

Very fun tag match, crowd into it throughout. 3D were bystanders for the most part but they did their spots to big pops. 3D put Brutus through the table and Devon pinned for the win...even though it was allegedly a tables match.

3D call back Beer Money and lead a cheering contest to win a piece of table. Some banter ensues which Dixie joins in on and a laugh riot is had by all and a beer bash in the ring.

And that’s the show. Seven thumbs up!
