Details at this point are scant in the death of Michael Jace’s wife April Jace, 40, who was shot to death Monday night in the couple’s Los Angeles home. The 911 calls started coming in around 8:30 p.m. on May 19, 2014, and on arrival at the Jace’s Hyde Park home police found the body of April, Jace’s wife of 10 years, in the hall. She had been shot multiple times.
Michael Jace, 51, known best for his role as Officer Julien Lowe in FX’s The Shield, was found outside the home and detained by police for questioning. He was later arrested for the murder. The couple have two boys, both under 10, who were home when April was killed. It is not clear if they witnessed the shooting.
While Detective Sal LaBarbera was answering questions for the media he commented, “It’s just so very unfortunate that a domestic incident like this occurs, we have two young children that lost their mom, and now their dad is in jail.”
Jace’s bail was set at $1 million. His first court appearance is scheduled for today.
