Microsoft's Peter Moore promises that supply problems for the next-gen console are drawing to a close

Anyone still struggling to get their dirty mitts on an Xbox 360 should pay close attention to recent word from Microsoft's Peter Moore: "Within the next four to six weeks, anybody will be able to walk into a store and buy an Xbox 360."
Moore's promise that Xbox 360 supply problems would soon cease to exist came during his keynote speech at the recent DICE summit in Las Vegas. He additionally spoke honestly about the console's simultaneous worldwide launch in Europe, North American and Japan, not shying away from admitting that this was in part responsible for unit shortages. However, he still stood by the launch battle-plan, calling it "the right decision".

"Was it controversial? Yes. But it's what we needed to do to bring next-gen gaming to a global audience. There have been short-term shortages, but we're driving a clear advantage as we go forward," Moore added. He also said that component shortages have caused supply problems too, but these have now "been fixed". "Now we're starting to cook. We're building a vibrant, rich and profitable business model for the future," he concluded.
