More than just tummy trouble
A woman who was rushed to hospital with stomach ache, fearing she had eaten a dodgy kebab, was shocked to give birth instead.

Helen Smitham, 25, of Distington, Cumbria, had no idea she was pregnant when she complained of feeling a bit rough.

According to The Sun, her mother took her to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven where she gave birth so quickly that doctors did not have time to tell her she was expecting.

A son, Deaton, was born on Christmas Eve weighing four pounds and 11 ounces.

"I had absolutely no idea," said the proud mother.

"When I had stomach pains I thought it was the kebab. At the hospital there was no time for the doctors to see me before it all happened."

Her boyfriend Mark Askew was also flabbergastered.

"She was at work until the Friday before Christmas and we'd gone out and done the normal things, like going out for a drink, Christmas parties and socialising.

"When I got a call to say we had a baby boy it was amazing."
