Let the speculation begin about former WWE Champion John Cena potentially making a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 35.

It’s been reported that Cena doesn’t currently a match booked or WrestleMania 35, which goes down on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium.

On Tuesday, Cena announced that he will be signing copies of his “Elbow Grease” book for kids at Strand Book Store in Union Square, New York City on Friday, April 5th at 4pm ET. He shared the news when he posted this video on his official Twitter account:

I’m sitting at a picnic table now BUT will be at @StrandBookStore in Union Square, NYC on April 5th at 4pm taking photos and meeting fans of #ElbowGrease! ?
Until then, I’ll just be sitting at this picnic table.

Cena recently did a run with WWE in late December through early January where he worked several TV and live events.

Although he was originally advertised to work the Royal Rumble Match at the pay-per-view event, he was pulled as it was reported that he was never scheduled to compete in the contest.

It’s always possible that WWE can come to an agreement with Cena in order for him to work the biggest show of the year. Just last year, he worked a short match against The Undertaker. Here’s the current card for WrestleMania 35:

  • WWE Universal Title Match: Brock Lesnar © vs. Seth Rollins
  • WWE Raw Women’s Title Match: Ronda Rousey © vs. Becky Lynch
  • WWE Cruiserweight Title Match: Buddy Murphy © vs. TBA
