WWE may be airing mysterious vignettes teasing the arrival of a new star in NXT, but the USA Network's blabbing has confirmed that this is Brian Pillman Jr.

Pillman finished his time with AEW earlier this year after the two sides failed to come to terms over a new contract. Pillman had been appearing for AEW since 2019 and signed a contract with the promotion the following year.

In recent weeks, vignettes have been teasing the arrival of a new Superstar to NXT, one who has been watching clips on a television in a dark room. These clips are all connected to either Pillman's father or Pillman himself.

In an article from the USA Network, WWE's broadcast partners weren't exactly subtle about who is the one behind these vignettes.

"The rumors are true: Brian Pillman, Jr. is the latest pro wrestling prodigy to make the jump to WWE! Following in the footsteps of megastar-in-the-making Jade Cargill is Pillman, Jr., who eagle-eyed members of the WWE Universe noticed making a blink-and-you-missed-it appearance during NXT No Mercy on September 30.

"It’s yet another savvy signing by WWE as they pluck yet another aspiring Superstar away from the competition and welcome another world-class athlete to the WWE locker room. Here’s why the WWE Universe should be excited for the eventual in-ring debut of Brian Pillman, Jr.!"

The USA Network stating that Pillman is following in Jade Cargill's footsteps is clearly a nod to both coming to WWE from AEW, though the All-Elite promotion was not named in the article.
