IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley has found himself dealing with an injury, which caused a last-minute change to the lineup at IMPACT Turning Point on October 27.
Originally scheduled to team up with Chris Sabin against Moose and Brian Myers, Shelley was replaced by Frankie Kazarian. This change was made without any official announcement in the arena.
The injury, as reported by Cultaholic, occurred during the UK Invasion Tour taping on October 26. Shelley was said to have suffered a leg injury, resulting in a noticeable limp during his appearance at Turning Point.
While there is currently no information regarding the duration of Shelley's absence from action, it's uncertain whether he will be able to compete in the remaining two shows of the tour.
According to PWInsider, sources have described Shelley's injury as an "extremely pulled muscle in his calf." The report further notes that IMPACT Wrestling sources have indicated that the company will be closely monitoring Shelley's condition for the rest of the tour. They described him as “banged up” for the rest of the tour.
Injuries are a common occurrence in the world of professional wrestling, and they often lead to sudden changes in scheduled matches and storylines.
In a recent interview, Shelley said that IMPACT Wrestling is “doing everything right in terms of presenting a pro wrestling product.” Shelley was part of the company when it was called Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, or TNA. He wrestled in the company from 2004 to 2012. Shelley said he still stands by what he said of the company when he came back to it full-time in 2022.
