Brian Stann's return to the light-heavyweight division is only temporary.

On Wednesday UFC officials announced Stann (12-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) and MMA legend Wanderlei Silva (34-12-1 MMA, 4-7 UFC) will headline UFC on FUEL TV 8 on March 3 in Saitama, Japan.

Stann, who's posted a 4-2 record since his move from light heavyweight to middleweight, said he's returning to his former weight for one night only.

"I am not moving to LHW, just one fight, couldnt find a matchup at 185, everyone is matched up or hurt in top ten & Wand doesnt want to cut," he tweeted.

Stann was on a 4-1 run in the division and inching toward a title shot before a loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 152. Since then, many of the division's top contenders have been booked for high-profile bouts. With few options, he opted to take the UFC on FUEL TV 8 bout, which airs live on FUEL TV.

Stann and Silva, a former PRIDE champion who's just 3-7 since 2006, will fight in a five-round non-title fight.

Stann, of course, previously has fought in the light-heavyweight division. In the now-defunct WEC, he briefly held the 205-pound title before the division was folded into the UFC.

Silva, meanwhile, recently has competed at 185 and 195 pounds following a long run at 205 pounds.

The latest UFC on FUEL TV 8 card includes:

Wanderlei Silva vs. Brian Stann

Siyar Bahadurzada vs. Dong Hyun Kim
Riki Fukuda vs. Brad Tavares
Cristiano Marcello vs. Kazuki Tokudome
