AEW's plans for Bryan Danielson took an unexpected turn following his recent injury, leading to changes in upcoming matches and events.

During the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, Danielson faced off against Kazuchika Okada and emerged victorious despite suffering a fractured forearm. The severity of the injury became evident when Brie Garcia, Danielson's wife, shared an X-ray image showing the fracture and expressed her thoughts on her husband's determination to continue the match.

As a key figure, both in front of and behind the camera, for AEW, Danielson's injury has necessitated alterations to ongoing storylines involving the Blackpool Combat Club. One such change affects the Blood & Guts match scheduled for July 19 at Boston's TD Garden.

Originally, Danielson was slated to play a significant role in the match, as Dave Meltzer revealed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“There was talk of a Danielson vs. Ishii singles match (which was to happen this week but Jon Moxley took his place) as well as his being in a Blood and Guts with the Elite vs. BCC on 7/19 in Boston, but obviously Danielson won't be able to be part of anything soon.”

As Bryan Danielson's injury has taken a more severe turn than initially anticipated, it has also cast doubt on his availability for AEW's highly anticipated shows, All In and All Out. All In, AEW's inaugural event in the UK, is set to be the promotion's grandest spectacle to date, with a staggering 60,000 tickets sold for the Wembley Stadium extravaganza in August. However, with Danielson's injury worsening, there is a genuine possibility that he may be forced to miss this historic event. Furthermore, the injury could potentially affect his involvement in AEW All Out 2023, which is scheduled to take place just one week later on September 3 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
