As noted earlier in the week, this week’s edition of People looks at the life of Chris Benoit and reports new details on the double murder-suicide that claimed the lives of his wife Nancy and son Daniel, and has become what is, in my opinion, the biggest “story” in the history of wrestling.

Investigators released new details of the crime scene to People, revealing that seven-year-old Daniel was found in his bed in his pajamas with his stomach down and head turned to the side. He is believed to have suffered internal damage to the throat but no sign of trauma around his neck. Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told People, “By the process of elimination, I arrive at a choke hold as the cause of death…but thats just a supposition.“

Benoit himself was found shirtless on the floor of his basement exercise room. He is believed to have wrapped a torn white cloth around his neck before looping a cable from a weight machine around his neck, releasing 240lb of weights which pulled up on his neck and strangled him.

The investigation continues, with toxicology reports being ready possibly as early as next week.
