TNA's Damaja speaks on WWE, TNA and the Chris Benoit tragedy

As Ian welcomed Damaja to the show he spoke about the beginning of his career in the WWE developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling.

Damaja continues with OVW talking about the feud with his current tag team partner, Doug Basham that culminated in a ‘loser leaves OVW’ match.

He reveals the origination of ‘The Damaja’ ring name back in OVW.

Lex then asks Damaja about how it felt to achieve WWE tag team gold on Smackdown in such a short space of time. They then went on to discuss the ‘S&M’ gimmick himself; Doug and Shaniqua were involved in on Smackdown.

Damaja then discusses his run with JBL’s stable, ‘The Cabinet’, which included another reign as WWE tag team champions by saying he felt the run ended a little early.

Ian then asks Damaja about JBL’s reputation as a bully backstage but Damaja puts over JBL as a decent guy and praises his commentary on Smackdown.

Damaja then talks about the late, great Eddie Guerrero.

Ian then asks Damaja about his thoughts on the new version of ECW and his brief run on the brand as part of Paul Heymans security, which injury cut short.

Lex then moves on to the subject of TNA and Damaja says his start with the company has gone very well and then talks about their feud with VKM.

Damaja then puts over Christy Hemme and Lance Hoyt. He then goes on discuss how TNA would benefit from a two-hour show with a lot of the talent on the roster struggling for TV time.

Lex asks Damaja about his thoughts on how the media has portrayed the Chris Benoit tragedy. He believes Chris Jericho put it best when he said the media has put a ‘steroid bow’ on the situation and put it aside. He puts over Benoit’s professionalism and passion for the business.

Finally Lex plugs the TNA pay-per-view, Victory Road and Damaja reveals he will be at the show this Sunday night.
