As Raw heads into North Carolina’s Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, it is clear that Randy Orton will do anything to weaken John Cena before their showdown over the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Just a little more than a week before the Biggest Party of the Summer, the Legend Killer sent Cena and all WWE a message when he attacked The Champ from behind on Saturday Night’s Main Event and flattened him with a thunderous RKO on a steel chair.

What is Cena’s condition going into Raw, with SummerSlam less than a week away? And will Orton send the WWE Champion yet another painful message?

The identity of the WWE Superstar who is Mr. McMahon’s illegitimate child remains unknown as Jonathan Coachman appeared unable to get to the bottom of the mystery on Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Chairman has rejected Eugene, Melina and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as his potential love children. Will there be new developments this Monday in the billionaire’s quest to find out which Superstar could be the fruit of the McMahon family tree?

Also, with the matchup for kingly supremacy announced, how will King Booker prepare to face the returning 10-time World Champion, Triple H, at SummerSlam? Can Booker and Queen Sharmell scheme a way to hold onto their royal Raw kingdom?

Finally, with the big Dating Game date between Ron Simmons and Maria scheduled, will the jealous Santino Marella find a way to throw an Italian-sized kink in the game-show machinations of Raw General Manager William Regal?

RAW Results - 20th Aug, 2007

We begin with Randy Orton in the ring and he has a mic. He tells everyone to take a good look because this is the last time that they are going to see him in the ring without the WWE Title around his waist. Two nights ago, there was a defining moment . . . a turning point. It was the beginning of the end. We go to footage from Saturday Night’s Main Event when Randy Orton gave John Cena an RKO onto a steel chair. Orton says that footage was important so he wants to see it in slow motion and from different angles. The people in the truck comply with Orton’s wishes. Orton says that footage is going to replace Hogan slamming Andre, Austin 3:16, or the ‘Montreal Screwjob’. He says that will be the most aired clip in WWE history and will air when he is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. That move will end the championship reign of John Cena. Orton says that it is safe to say that John Cena is not 100 percent. Orton understands if John Cena couldn’t make it to SummerSlam. There is a rumor that John Cena is not even in the building. Orton says that this is the time for Cena to come to the ring to save him from embarrassment to forfeit his WWE Title.

Instead of John Cena, Vince McMahon comes to the ring as only Vince McMahon can. McMahon says that Orton’s match at SummerSlam is important but some ingrate has filed a paternity suit against him. Vince says that his offspring is male so that narrows things down. Vince says that some WWE Superstar on the roster is his son. It must be someone of superior genetic makeup. He says that he hopes it is someone like Randy Orton. Vince says that he would have been proud to call Randy his son if that was the case. Vince says that he hopes his new son is nothing like his two offspring, his Son Shane or his Daughter Stephanie because they are only in it for the money. He hopes it is someone generous who does not care about the money. Vince says that he thinks we will find out who it is tonight. Vince wants everyone to welcome his son with open arms. Vince says that everyone in the crowd enjoys the misfortunes of others. He calls everyone sick. Vince restates that he hopes his son has the same qualities as Randy Orton, but not like John Cena.

We see John Cena walking through the back while Vince runs Cena down. Vince says that John has decided to show up after all. Vince wonders if Cena is going to confront Orton after all.

John Cena’s music plays and he comes to the ring. Vince has them stop Cena’s music while Orton goes into the crowd. Cena says that these people don’t like Vince. Vince says that he does not like Vince. Cena calls Vince arrogant, pompous, and disrespectful. Vince reminds Cena that he is rich. Cena says that he would be embarrassed to be Vince’s son. Vince asks Cena how his face is. Cena says that it was quite a statement and he got the message. Cena has a message of his own. He says that he will be at SummerSlam on Sunday and he will retain the WWE Championship. Vince says that Cena might not be there. Vince says that if Cena is not there on Sunday, he will strip Cena of the WWE Title. Vince says that speaking of striping, he wants to talk about Cena’s mother. Vince says that he spent a lot of time in New England in his early days and he might have done Cena’s mom. Cena slaps Vince and sends Vince to his knees. Vince leaves the ring and Orton checks on Vince.

Vince asks Cena if he wants action tonight, then he has it. Vince says that Cena will wrestle ‘the undefeated’ Gene Snitsky. Vince walks up the Rawest Ramp in Sports Entertainment as we go to commercial.

Before the first match begins, Raw General Manager William Regal comes out and says that despite the rumor that British men are sexually repressed, there will be a Diva’s Battle Royale where everyone but Candice will be in the match and the winner will get a future WWE Women’s Title Match.


Melina and Beth Phoenix vs Mickie James and WWE Women’s Champion Candice Michelle



The bell rings and Beth and Melina attack Candice and Mickie. Mickie with a forearm to Beth, but Beth with a forearm to Mickie’s back. Beth with a slingshot suplex to Mickie for a near fall. Melina tags in but so does Candice. Candice with a clothesline and drop kick to Melina followed by another clothesline for a two count Candice with a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Beth tries to interfere but Candice stops Beth. Candice with a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Mickie James and Candice Michelle

After the match:
Mickie attacks Candice Michelle while she celebrates in the ring. Mickie throws Candice out of the ring. Mickie is thrown out of the ring. Beth throws Melina over the top rope to the floor.




We find out that Umaga will be on Carlito’s Cabana tonight and then we go to commercial.


We are back with the Slam of the Week: Santino singing to Maria on WWE Idol only to be interrupted by Ron Simmons and then thrown into the wall of the TitanTron.

William Regal is on the phone talking about the Diva Battle Royal. Santino Marella enters and wonders why William Regal allowed this date. Regal tells Santino not to be jealous and he says that he is not jealous. Regal tells Santino to calm down and let the date happen. Santino says that he cannot relax because he has to listen to Regal’s ridiculous accent and compares it to a ‘limp-wristed hairdresser’. Regal tells Santino not to interfere. Santino leaves.

King Booker is in the interview area and he talks about how Triple H has said that he is going to return at the SummerSlam Games. Booker says that he is going to ruin Hunter’s big surprise and he says that Hunter is in the building tonight. He talks about their ‘joust’ at the SummerSlam Games but says that there is no reason why they cannot meet in the ring. Queen Sharmell invites Triple H to the ring tonight to celebrate the official crowning of the one true King of the WWE.

Vince has Jonathan Coachman looking at his lip and Coach says that he hopes Snitsky takes care of Cena. Vince says that he is glad that he has another son and not a daughter. It will be someone like him. Coach points out that Triple H is going to be here and then he says that he was just thinking. Vince and Coach downplay that. They stop by Val Venis and he says ‘Hello Daddy!’ Vince thinks about a former porn star being his son. Coach says that explains a lot. Vince talks about His Son Shane and how Shane is disappointed with him. Vince talks about how it was Shane’s fault that Steve Austin poured beer on him; and it was Shane’s fault that he got his head shaved at Wrestlemania. Coach reminds Vince about how he got his head shoved up Big Show’s ass if not for Shane. Daivari stops by and he says hello to his ‘daddy’. Vince tells Daivari to take his headdress off him. Vince says that his son will be virile and someone like him. Vince sees Ken Kennedy. He says that it will be someone competitive. It will be someone with great wealth. We go to commercial.

We are back and we see footage of Randy Orton taking out Dusty Rhodes last month on Raw


Shelton Benjamin (with Charlie Haas) vs Cody Rhodes

Benjamin starts off with a knee on a hammer lock and then he slaps Rhodes. Rhodes with an arm bar but he misses a drop kick. Benjamin with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Rhodes with a take down but Benjamin rolls through and punches Rhodes. Benjamin with a rear chin lock. Benjamin with forearms to the back but Benjamin tries a third time and Rhodes connects with an elbow. Rhodes with a kick followed by punches and a clothesline and drop kicks. Rhodes with a kick to Benjamin and bulldog but he can only get a two count. Benjamin hits a back breaker and then he sets for a Boston Crab but Rhodes counters and gets the three count with a rollup.



Winner: Cody Rhodes


After the match:



Haas comes into the ring and he attacks Rhodes. Benjamin hits the leap frog senton onto Rhodes’s back. We go to commercial.

We are back and Jim Ross and Tazz talk about how next week’s episode of Raw will be on SciFi.

World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch versus Paul London and Brian Kendrick

Cade and Kendrick start things off and Kendrick with a waist lock followed by a side head lock take down into a side head lock. Cade backs Kendrick into the corner and Cade with a clean break. Kendrick with a hammer lock but Cade reverses and applies a side head lock. Kendrick hits a drop kick on Cade but Cade with a shoulder tackle. Cade misses an elbow drop and Kendrick with two arm drags. London is tagged in and they hit a double flying forearm for a near fall. Cade with a knee to London and Murdoch is tagged in. London with an arm drag. London is sent to the apron by Murdoch and then he hits a shoulder and slingshot side kick for a near fall. London with a kick but Murdoch with a back elbow and Cade is tagged in. Cade with a forearm to London’s back and then Cade pushes London into the corner and Cade kicks London. Cade with an Irish whip but he charges into an elbow. London hits a springboard cross body and Kendrick comes in and Kendrick hits a drop kick on Murdoch. Cade is clotheslined over the top rope by London and Kendrick. London and Kendrick hit a double drop kick on Murdoch and he joins his partner outside the ring. London and Kendrick hit double suicide dives onto Cade and Murdoch.

With all four men down on the floor, Cryme Tyme come into the ringside area through the crowd and they take Murdoch’s hat and they go into the crowd again. Shad asks if there are any sellers for the hat. He asks for fifty dollars but he lowers the price.



Back in the ring, Cade hits a clothesline on London and then Kendrick makes the tag and hits a crucifix rollup for the three count.

Winners: Paul London and Brian Kendrick

After the match:
they sell the hat for two dollars and they celebrate with the fan who bought the hat. Cade and Murdoch are furious at what just happened.


Backstage:
King Booker and Queen Sharmell walk through the back as we go to commercial.




We are back at a local sports bar for Maria and Ron Simmons’s date. The waiter asks Ron what kind of chowder he wants and Ron says he wants ‘clam’. Ron then orders ‘lamb’ and asks for ‘jam’ with his bread. Santino walks in with Jillian Hall, who he calls Maria. Santino asks to join them and he sits next to Maria. Maria says that they will have a good time. The waiter comes back and asks what type of vegetable he wants and Ron asks for ‘yams’.



King Booker and Queen Sharmell are in the ring and Sharmell introduces the ‘one true King in the WWE’ and the man who will defeat Triple H at SummerSlam. Booker says that last week at the Royal Coronation, Jerome Lawler was to place the crown on his head to show who the one true king is. Booker says that did not happen.



Booker says that Jerome chose to mock the King and scare King Booker with empty gestures, such as naming his opponent at the SummerSlam Games. He says that if Jerome was here tonight instead of at home recuperating, he would ask Jerome if this were the acts of a scared individual. We go to footage from last week’s Raw when King Booker attacked Jerome Lawler and hit him with a television monitor. Booker says that due to Jerome’s disrespect, the crowning did not happen. Booker says that he would rather do it tonight in Fayetteville. Booker says that it will be done by someone other than Jerome. He has Hunter Hearst Helmsley come out to crown King Booker. Triple H does not come out and Booker tells him to come out and take his rightful place. Triple H’s music plays and someone resembling Triple H but a little bit smaller physically comes out wearing Hunter’s outfit and nose.



Booker tells ‘Hunter’ that he proved that he is not a coward. He wants ‘Hunter’ to prove that he is not a king by putting the crown on the royal dome of King Booker. ‘Hunter’ puts the crown on Booker’s head and he bows down to Booker. Booker says that ‘Hunter’ can be reasoned with. Booker reminds ‘Hunter’ that they will meet at the SummerSlam Games where he will make ‘Hunter’ bow down.



Booker says that he has one other matter and he will make this very quick. Booker goes over to James Ross and Tazzwell. Booker tells Tazzwell that it does not involve him. Booker says that James had some choice words about him including calling him reprehensible and repugnant. He asks James if he remembered saying that Booker was not a real king. Booker gives James one more chance and that involves James kissing his ring. James gets up and he refuses to kiss Booker’s ring. Booker says that he is ordering James to do it or suffer the same consequences that befell Jerome. James says that he is not going to kiss his ring, but Queen Sharmell pushes James to kiss the ring. Booker pushes James into his seat and then he thanks everyone, including James. King Booker leaves the ringside area and we go to commercial.


We are back with a Moments Ago Moment of James Ross kissing King Booker’s ring with some help from Queen Sharmell. Tazzwell says that he would have had James’s back.

Restaurant:
We return to the restaurant and Jillian is ‘singing’ for the patrons. Maria says that she did not know they had karaoke. Santino says that she takes the mic everywhere. A waiter gives Santino a copy of the WWE Magazine and then he reads off a piece of paper. Santino talks about his victory over Umaga in Italy. He says that it was inspiring and captivating. Simmons says that it was a ‘SHAM’.

Carlito's Cabana:



We are back in the arena and it is time for Carlito’s Cabana and he brings out Umaga. Carlito tells Umaga to take a seat or stand up if he wants. He talks about Umaga’s resume and how he is the Intercontinental Champion. Carlito says that they are here to talk about him. Carlito says that he does not have a match for SummerSlam. Umaga takes an apple while Carlito says that he should face Umaga for the Intercontinental Title.



Carlito is interrupted by Ken Kennedy who comes to the ring. Kennedy wants to know if Carlito knows who he is talking to. He says that Umaga is a two time Intercontinental Champion who has bulldozed through everyone on Raw except him. Kennedy says that he has done what Umaga could not do, he beat Bobby Lashley. Not only did he beat Bobby Lashley, he took Lashley out.



Kennedy says that if anyone deserves a shot at the Intercontinental Title it is him. Umaga hits Kennedy with a super kick and then he destroys the set. Apples are thrown everywhere while the trees are destroyed.



William Regal comes out and he has an announcement to make. He says that since they both feel that they deserve a title shot, the winner of the match between Carlito and Ken Kennedy will face Umaga for the Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam. We go to commercial.


Carlito versus Ken Kennedy to determine the Number One Contender for the Intercontinental Title

The match is joined in progress and Carlito has Kennedy in an arm bar and he slaps Kennedy. Kennedy punches Carlito to get out of the hold. Carlito punches Kennedy and then he throws Kennedy out of the ring. Kennedy returns to the ring and he takes Carlito down. Carlito rolls out of the ring and Kennedy goes out after him. Carlito returns to the ring first and he tries for an elbow drop but Kennedy avoids it. Kennedy returns to the floor. Kennedy eventually gets back into the ring and he misses a clothesline. Carlito punches and chops Kennedy. Kennedy punches back but so does Carlito. Kennedy with elbows while Carlito punches Kennedy. Carlito with a drop kick for a two count. Carlito with a rear chin lock followed by elbows to the nose. Kennedy with a back body drop to Carlito and then he gets a two count. Kennedy kicks Carlito in the corner followed by punches and more kicks. Kennedy with an Irish whip but he charges into an elbow. Carlito follows up with a clothesline and goes for the cover but Kennedy keeps his shoulder off the mat. Carlito punches Kennedy on the apron and then he tries to suplex Kennedy back into the ring. Kennedy tries to suplex Carlito to the floor but Carlito suplexes Kennedy back into the ring for a near fall. Carlito slams Kennedy and then he goes up to the second turnbuckle but misses an elbow drop. Kennedy with a rollup for a two count. Kennedy with forearms to Carlito’s neck. Kennedy with punches to Carlito but he misses a clothesline. Kennedy does not miss a back elbow and he gets a two count. Carlito kicks Kennedy and then he punches Kennedy. Carlito tries for the springboard back elbow but Kennedy moves out of the way. Kennedy sends Carlito shoulder first into the ring post and Carlito goes to the floor. Kennedy puts Carlito against the ring steps and then he kicks Carlito in the chest before returning to the ring.



We go to commercial.

We are back and Kennedy with a key lock on Carlito. Carlito gets back to his feet but Kennedy hits a short arm clothesline. Kennedy kicks Carlito in the shoulder and then he punches Carlito while Carlito tries to fight back. Kennedy with a hard Irish whip and then he chokes Carlito with his boot. Kennedy with a hard Irish whip to Carlito and then Kennedy kicks Carlito in the corner. Kennedy chokes Carlito and he lets go before the referee gets to five. Kennedy sets for the running boot, but Carlito hits a clothesline and gets a two count. Carlito sends Kennedy shoulder first into the ring post. Carlito runs Kennedy’s head into the ring post before rolling him back into the ring. Carlito with a drop kick to Kennedy for a two count. Carlito punches Kennedy and then he hits a swinging neck breaker for a two count. Carlito with an Irish whip to Kennedy but Carlito misses a charge. Carlito goes up top but Kennedy crotches Carlito. Kennedy gets Carlito up on the second turnbuckle for the Lambeau Leap but Carlito gets out of the hold and he hits a snap superplex. Kennedy and Carlito with inside cradles and the referee makes the three count.

Winner: Draw (due to double pin)



After the match:
William Regal comes out and he says that he has a solution to the dilemma. It will be a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam between Carlito, Ken Kennedy, and Umaga. We go to commercial

We are back and we are less than a week from Triple H’s return at the SummerSlam Games.

We are back at the restaurant and Santino says that he was being polite to Ron in front of the ladies. He says that he will beat Ron like a Christmas Ham if he laid his hands on Santino again. Maria asks for the waiter and Ron calls for ‘SAM’. A tray of food is knocked on Santino and Ron lets out a ‘DAMN’ with a smirk.

Vince is with Melina and he asks who she is texting. Melina says that she is texting his friend. Vince brings up Melina’s claim that she would sue Vince. Vince talks about how we know he has a son. Vince shows Melina the Divas Magazine and he shows Melina a photo of her using a Super Soaker. Vince talks about his Super Soaker and then tells Melina where he is staying.

Backstage:
Gene Snitsky stops by and he says that he did not know his parents. He says that he never knew his family. He only knows causing pain. Just like the pain that John Cena caused when he slapped Vince earlier tonight. Snitsky says he is going to cause the type of pain that fathers try to protect their sons from. Snitsky says that John Cena’s pain will be his pleasure. We go to commercial.

Gene Snitsky versus John Cena



Cena and Snitsky with a collar and elbow tie up and Snitsky with a knee and forearm to the back. Snitsky slams Cena’s head into the turnbuckle. Snitsky with a kick and Irish whip but Cena moves out of the way when Snitsky charges. Cena with a bulldog for a near fall. Cena with punches but he comes off the ropes and is met with a big boot. Snitsky with an elbow drop and punch to the head. Cena with punches but Snitsky with a clothesline and Cena rolls outside the ring to the floor. Snitsky goes outside the ring after Cena and he picks up Cena and slams his head into the ring apron. Cena is rolled back into the ring and Snitsky with a two count. Cena blocks a punch and he responds with punches of his own. Snitsky with a back elbow to Cena. Snitsky with a double underhook on Cena but Cena powers out of it. Snitsky with a short arm clothesline followed by a hard Irish whip. Snitsky tries for a running boot into the corner but Snitsky misses when Cena moves. Cena goes for the leg and then he goes up top for a leg drop. Cena gets Snitsky up for the FU but Randy Orton comes into the ring and he hits the RKO.

Winner: John Cena (by disqualification)

After the match
Orton hits another RKO on Cena and then he goes for the WWE Title belt.
