Face: tie between Sting and Shawn Michaels in the mid-90s
Heel: This choice is a little more complicated. The best heel persona would be JBL. You have to admit that you hated him after the Nazi solute in Germany, the work he did "guarding the border", and the way he beat the shit out of Blue Meanie.
I would say the best heel wrestler was Bret Hart, but even when he was supposed to be a heel, he was a tweener with the fans. Jeff Jarret is a good wrestler who has been a heel most of his career, but that's too easy of a choice. The best heel wrestler is Scot Hall as Razor Ramon in the early 90s. He consistantly gave a great performance in the ring and always received a bunch of heat from the crowd.
The biggest heel reaction though was last year when Shawn Michaels returned to Montreal. I've never heard boos that loud. It was almost troubling to watch knowing that the crowd was not booing because of any storyline or implementation of a heel gimmick, but because they genuinely hated HBK. I've never seen a crowd react that passionately in a negative way. They booed for 5 mins straight!
