A tramp is £2,000 richer after finding Sir Paul McCartney's waxwork head.

Tony Silva thought it was a Halloween mask poking from a bin liner, reports the Daily Mirror.

Only when he saw a story in the newspaper he had been sleeping on did he realise a big reward had been offered for the head, estimated to be worth up to £10,000, after it was left on a train.

Tony, 41, who had been sleeping rough in Reading, the train's last stop, begged the fare to London to hand the head into Abbey Road studios.

He said: "It's the strangest thing ever to happen to me."
