An Open Challenge was issued by the “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels and he defeated Sedrick Strong.

Welcome to night two of the 2006 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup. The event was held in the venue that will be receiving the money raised by the event, the Boys and Girls Club of Pinellas Park Florida. Due to a family emergency, “Reckless Youth” Tom Carter had to leave Florida. We wish his family the best in this time of need. Several famous wrestling faces were in attendance like current Seal, the Cuban Assassin, WWE superstars the Gymini AKA Mike and Todd Shane, Buck Quartermaine among others. Former IPW announcer Shannon Rose was your MC.

The show was opened by Naphtali, the Cuban Assassin and Fantasy who thanked the fans for coming out to support the event and told them some background on the late Jeff Peterson.

(1) In a match to determine Tom Carter’s replacement in the tournament, “Stampede Kid” TJ Wilson defeated Human Tornado, TJ Mack, Jake Manning and Arik Cannon.

Former tag team partners Tornado and Generico began with wrestling and quickly dissolved into a dance-off. The other four opponents got upset and jumped them. Arik Cannon remained in the ring and went to work on Tornado with power moves. Manning tagged in but got hit with a leg lariat and then Tornado hit him with the House Party. TJ Mack and TJ Wilson booted the other two from the ring as the fans had dueling lets go TJ chants. That ended when Manning tagged in and attacked Wilson. Wilson fired back with several vicious forearm shots and he dumped Manning to the floor. Cannon and Generico followed them out but Generico was the one Wilson dragged back into the ring. Generico went for his Ole kick but Cannon tagged in and sent Wilson to the apron. Cannon hit a standing suplex but got two. He followed with a blow the border as the referee was distracted by one of the opponents. Mack tagged in and attacked Cannon who quickly tagged out to Manning. Manning missed a move on the ropes and Mack made him pay with a swanton from the apron. Things got crazy as everyone went to end the match with their finishers but none of them worked, even Tornado’s POUNCE didn’t get a pin. Tornado and then Generico hit planchas to the floor but it was Wilson who returned to the ring and pinned TJ Mack to advance and face Milano Collection AT.

(2) In a second round tournament match, Ruckus defeated Canadian Cougar.

Both men tried to wear the other down with armbars but neither got control until Cougar’s head scissor sent Ruckus to the floor. When Cougar went to follow up, Ruckus kicked him right in the face. They went near a wall and Cougar’s arm smacked the concrete. He went to fight back but Ruckus threw him into the ring post and then hit a spinning tope to the floor. Ruckus sent Cougar into the ring and went up only to come down on both of Cougar’s boots. Cougar hit double knees to Ruckus’ face and got two. He followed with a springboard cross bodyblock for two. Ruckus reversed a corner whip but was hit with a springboard bulldog for two. Cougar went up top but missed a top rope elbow and it sent Ruckus on the offense once more. After sending Cougar to a corner Ruckus went for a lariat but Cougar took him to the mat with a cross armbreaker. Ruckus finally escaped by stomping on the injured shoulder but he missed a corner splash. Cougar couldn’t follow up and was finished off by a rolling Perfectplex.

(3) In a second round tournament match, “Technical Wizard” Joey Ryan defeated “Miami Pound Machine” Rod Steel.

Before the match Steel bragged about beating Super 8 champion Davey Richards. He said he was backing out of his scheduled tag team match with Bruce Santee against the Modern Day Theory. After Ryan made “friends” with the ringsiders, the match finally began. Actually Steel and Ryan began trying to one up the other in front of the fans. Even Star Stevens went out and hit on a woman in the crowd. Ryan and Steel tried to count him out but Stevens beat the ten count. On the lock up Steel moved and Ryan locked up with Stevens. The next lock up saw Stevens lock up with Steel. Then Ryan and Steel poked each other in the eyes then poked Stevens in the eyes. Steel went for a sunset flip but when Ryan blocked it, Steel pulled down Ryan’s short causing Ryan to moon everyone for a couple of minutes. Ryan finally corrected the trunks issue and smashed Steel’s face on the ring apron. Both men tried to pin the other using the ropes for leverage but Stevens refused to count. Steel threw Stevens into Ryan and counted two. Steel hit the Spinebuster and Ryan fired back with a superkick, both got two. Steel tried to pin Ryan using the ropes but Stevens refused to count. Ryan won with a rollup, using the tights.

As Shannon Rose told the fans about Christopher Daniels’ open challenge he was interrupted by “Black Nature Boy” Scoot Andrews. Andrews reminded fans that is was Jeff Peterson who got him into the Super 8 run by Peterson’s Uncle Jim Kettner. Andrews reminded the fans about the history between Daniels and himself. Andrews told the fans he was retired unlike Mike Sullivan and Lex Lovett and would be the guest ring announcer for the match between Daniels and his opponent. Andrews said if he had his way the opponent would send Daniels to TNA Slammiversary with a broken neck.

(4) In a Jeff Peterson Tribute match, Naphtali defeated Havok and OG Scarface.

The match was refereed by the former Sejin AKKI Mikey Tenderfoot, a former rival of Peterson in IPW Hardcore. Naphtali and Havok showed respect to Peterson but Scarface decked Havok. All three went to the floor but it was Scarface who got a chair and hit Havok with a springboard tope. Naphtali followed with a spinning tope of his own. Havok went for one but Scarface tripped him up. Scarface got a table and then hit Havok with a backcracker after cutting off a suplex attempt. Scarface and Naphtali traded chairshots and were knocked silly when Havok tossed a ladder into them. Havok placed in the Tree of Woe and then put a ladder in front of his body. Havoc then power bombed Scarface into the ladder. Naphtali hit the dreaded DVD on the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup DVD (www.highspots.com for all DVD’s) but he was hit by Scarface’s Double Penetration for two. Havok hit Scarface with a piledriver and then grabbed the table from the floor and brought it into the ring. As Havok placed Naphtali on the table Scarface came up and when Havok turned he was decked by a computer keyboard. Scarface went up top but Havok met him, followed by Naphtali who brought both men off the top and into the table. All four men gathered in the ring and said a silent prayer in tribute to their fallen friend.

(5) In a second round tournament match, Delirious defeated Krazy K.

As usual the bell ringing sent Delirious into hysterics. Once he calmed down. Krazy K entered the ring and they locked up but Delirious hit his version of the facewash. Both men traded armdrags and snapmares again ended up facing each other straight up. After taking Krazy’s hair rag, Delirious grabbed one off a girl sitting ringside and traded it for Krazy’s. Next Delirious claimed a ringside patron pulled his hair but the referee didn’t call for a DQ. Finally both men locked up but Delirious locked in an armwringer followed by a headlock and yelled in Krazy’s ear several times. Krazy tried to settle things down by taking Delirious to the mat. That plan backfired, so Krazy suplexed Delirious onto the top rope and then hit a 619 from the floor. Krazy laid in kicks to Delirious’ body but it had little effect. After a small track meet broke out, both men came back to the ring where Delirious hit a clothesline and a back chop. Delirious went to end the match with the facewash and a back suplex for two as he tried to raise the roof. Krazy countered out of several moves and hit an enziguri. After jostling for position Krazy hit a spinning plancha of sorts. Both men got back in the ring and Krazy hit a Northern Lights bomb into the corner but missed a top tope move. That allowed Delirious to lock in the Cobra Twist and gain the submission.

(6) In a second round tournament match, Milano Collection AT (w/”dog” Micheal) defeated “Stampede Kid” TJ Wilson.

Milano had an advantage over Wilson; this was his first bout of the evening while this was Wilson’s second. You could have fooled the fans as Wilson was the aggressor until his kick along the ropes was blocked and Milano hit a running one of his own. Milano went to work trying to wear down Wilson but ended up being powerslammed for two. Milano fired back with a spinebuster and locked Wilson in a mat version of an abdominal stretch but Wilson made it to the ropes. Wilson got some distance after driving both feet into Milano’s face. Wilson kept on the offense with legdrops and other offensive moves but none of them pinned Milano. Wilson went for a springboard elbow but found nothing but mat. Milano went for a move but Wilson dropkicked his knee. Wilson put Milano in the ankle lock but Milano rolled through and pinned Wilson to advance.

(7) In a non-tournament match, Modern Day Theory (Scott Commodity & Preston James w/former WWE Women’s World champion Molly Holly) defeated "The Marquee" Bruce Santee and Pretty Fly (w/ “Supermodel” Amy Love).

Santee and Love came to the ring but Love wasn’t dressed to wrestle. Santee took the mic to badmouth the fans and explained why he wasn’t in the Peterson Cup. Santee said instead of wrestling Christopher Daniels or Billy Kidman, he was wrestling two goofballs. The JPC board told he needed a partner and from the locker room came Pretty Fly. Not to be outdone, MDT ripped Santee, calling themselves “the Tag Team of the Future.” James and Fly locked up first but MDT began to make tags and work over one half of the FPWA Tag Team champions. Santee tagged himself in and berated Fly. When Santee was done, he was hit with a double hiptoss and MDT sent Fly into Santee’s package which made Love irate. Santee returned to the ring where he was double teamed by MDT. Fly and Santee hit Commodity with a modified Hot Shot but Santee refused to tag Fly back in the match. Finally Fly was tagged back in and he held his own with Commodity, until he missed a corner splash. Fly kicked out of a pin and hit a clothesline. While the makeshift team worked over Commodity, Love and Holly traded verbal shots. Commodity hit Santee with an enziguri as tagged out to the well rested James as Holly stopped Love from interfering. As MDT took over on Fly, Love dragged Santee over to talk about a possible injury to her ankle. This left Fly alone to be finished off by a MDT double team suplex into a frogsplash.

(8) In a semi-final tournament match, Ruckus defeated “Technical Wizard” Joey Ryan.

Both men went to work on the others left arm but when things sped up to high flying moves, Ryan slowed it down by punching Ruckus in the face on an attempted tope. Ryan teased a tope but stepped out of the ring and poked Ruckus in the eyes. Back in the ring Ryan hit a dropkick for two and then went for a kick to the back, only to slow down and lock in a chinlock. Ruckus escaped and got a crucifix pin for two but Ryan sent him back to the mat. Ryan hit a snap suplex but got two. Ruckus got on the attack but his rolling Perfectplex was stopped by a cross armbreaker and a superkick for two. Ryan went for the Mustache Ride but it was blocked and Ruckus sent Ryan back to the mat. Ruckus came off the top rope with what looked like a Spiral Tap to advance to the finals.

(9) In a semi-final tournament match, Milano Collection AT (w/ his “dog” Micheal) defeated Delirious.

Like his other opponents Delirious confused Milano. He asked Milano where Micheal was but he wasn’t allowed to pet him. Delirious got angry as tried Milano tried to untangle himself from Delirious’ headgear cloths. Milano tired to wrestle Delirious but his shoulder tackles met a solid body on three occasions. On the fourth try Milano tripped up Delirious and then tied him in the ropes with his own arms and legs. After getting a sprinting start, Milano dropped a leg on Delirious’ body. Delirious recovered and hit a running lee to a prone Milano who lied in the corner. Delirious delivered chest chops but a slingshot move was stopped by a stiff kick to the head. Milano did several and I do mean several chest chops to Delirious but couldn’t get a pin. Milano fought off an attempted Cobra Twist but ended up in the move. Somehow he got out but his next move was stopped by a Milano palmstrike. After several exchanges Milano locked in the keylock but Delirious didn’t submit. Delirious hit a modified Cradle Shock but got two and a half. Delirious went up top but was met with a superkick when he landed in the ring. Milano locked in the AT Lock and advanced via submission.

(10) In the open challenge, “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels defeated 2003 JPC finalist Sedrick Strong.

As he promised “Black Nature Boy” Scoot Andrews was the ring announcer for the match. He announced Daniels and waited for the music person to hit the music for the opponent. The answer came in the form of Sedrick Strong, the current PWW Heavyweight champion. Daniels wrestled Sedrick’s brother last evening but he quickly found out Sedrick is not Roderick in any way. Daniels hit Strong with several hiptosses trying to set the back up for injury. Strong took some time and went to the BowFlex in the corner of the venue and stretched out the back. Once back in the ring, Strong received more abuse but Strong used some questionable tactics to get Daniels on the mat. Namely use the ropes to choke out Daniels. Strong stayed on the offensive with shots to Daniels head and neck. Strong took Daniels to the mat with a modified camel clutch but Daniels refused to submit. The action went to the floor but Strong sent Daniels back in and dropped a leg on the throat for two. Daniels got a small package for two but Strong kicked out and hit a clothesline. Strong missed a corner splash and was hit by an enziguri. Daniels fought to his feet and hit Strong with several hard shots including a springboard moonsault for two. Strong recovered and hit an 8 Second Ride for two. Daniels escaped a backbreaker and hit a Falcons Arrow for two. Daniels went for the Angels Wings but Strong back Daniels into referee Billy Dalton. Andrews slid in to stop Strong from using a chain on his fist. Strong used a derogatory term that I will not type here. So Andrews hit Strong with the deadly Forces of Nature. Daniels recovered and hit a triple jump BME to end the match on a high note.

(11) In a non-tournament match, former WWE Superstar Billy Kidman defeated former NWA Southern

Heavyweight champion Lex Lovett (w/ “Iceman” Buck Quartermaine.)

Before the match, Lovett ripped Scoot Andrews for questioning his decision to come out of retirement. Lovett ripped Andrews and the fans of Pinellas Park. Lovett and Kidman traded waistlocks and ended up in neutral positions. Kidman took Lovett down to the mat with an armbar and worked over the shoulder socket. Lovett charged the corner but Kidman hit him with a headscissor which sent Lovett to the floor to regroup with Quartermaine. Kidman went out to get Lovett, but he was decked by Quartermaine. Once back in the ring Lovett locked in a modified Steiner Recliner but let the move go and sent Kidman to the floor once more. Quartermaine got in some punches and sent Kidman back in again. Kidman powered out of a hold with a backdrop. Both men fought to their feet but Lovett hit a suplex for two. Kidman fought to his feet once again and traded punches with Lovett. Lovett ducked a move and hit Kidman with the Lex Buster for two and one half. Kidman hopped to his feet and hit a dropkick. Kidman went up top but Lovett cut him off bringing Kidman off with a DDT but got two. With Lovett on the mat, Kidman went to capitalize with a rope move, but Quartermaine grabbed him. Kidman snapped and grabbed Quartermaine. As the duo fought, Lovett got to his feet. Somehow Kidman fought off a pin and sent Lovett flying into Quartermaine. After they collided, Lovett fell into Kidman and was hit with a Sky High Slam.

(12) In the finals of the 2006 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup, Milano Collection AT (w/ his “dog” Michael) defeated Ruckus.

This match was referee by Mikey Tenderfoot. The remaining JPC competitors surrounded the ring to cheer on both men. Milano took Ruckus to the mat with a stretch move of some kind, attacking the left arm and shoulder. Ruckus fought back using speed to get a dropkick that sent Milano to the floor. Ruckus followed with a tope of some kind. Both men came back but Milano hit a legdrop and back to work on the arm using the ropes and the ringpost for weapons. Milano actually stood on Ruckus’ arm and posed for the crowd. Milano locked in a cross armbreaker but somehow Ruckus got to the ropes. Milano went back to the arm with kicks even as Ruckus tried to fight back. Milano hammerlocked Ruckus and sent the shoulder into a turnbuckle. Ruckus shocked everyone when he hit Milano with an inverted neck drop of some kind, a neckbreaker and a handstand senton. Ruckus went for a clothesline but Milano matrixed out only to be hit with a rolling Pele kick. Ruckus went up top and hit a split leg moonsault for two. Milano was put in the Tree of Woe and went for a Van Daminator but Milano pulled himself out of the way. Milano hit a spinning plancha but got two. Ruckus fought back several times but he couldn’t avoid the AT Lock and had to submit. Milano was congratulated by all of the competitors and the fans in attendance.
