Marc Forster, director of the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace, is now attached to an English-language remake of South Korean action movie Die Bad.

The original 2000 film comprised four short films that told the story of the rise and fall of a gangster.

Produced by Universal Pictures, the remake will be set in New York.

Its writer, former insurance salesman Brad Ingelsby, describes the film as "an epic story of friendship and how a single incident can change one's life."

Quantum of Solace, the 22nd official Bond movie, is the UK's top film after a record-breaking opening weekend.

The director is currently in Valencia with actor Daniel Craig and other cast members for the Spanish premiere of 007's latest adventure.

The film, Craig's second as Ian Fleming's legendary secret agent, has its US premiere in New York on Tuesday.

Forster's other films include The Kite Runner, Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp and the Will Ferrell comedy Stranger Than Fiction.
