Juventus' interest in Liverpool's Dutch international attacker Dirk Kuyt is ready to move to the next level.
Juventus have stepped up their interest in Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt as they try and find a replacement for Pavel Nedved.

The Czech star's agent Mino Raiola sent the warning shots to the Bianconeri on Wednesday by insisting his client would not accept a pay-as-you-play deal.

Juventus wasted no time in reacting to the words. Reports suggest that they have since moved to sign Kuyt, leading to suggestions that Nedved will retire at the end of term.

Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the Bianconeri are ready to launch a €30 million bid for the 28-year-old Dutch international. Juventus have already made contact with the player's agent, and it is believed negotiations will begin within the next week.

The Bianconeri cannot afford to waste any time in finding a replacement as Nedved's deal will expire in June. Juve will need to bring in substitute for the former Ballon d'Or winner sooner rather than later if they are to avoid any awkward crossover period.
