Default Football/Soocer: English Coach Sven Goran Eriksson might coach Jamaica

Wow, not sure how to react,
For those of you that don't remember/didn't know the Jamaica Football Team "The Reggae Boyz" made history and became the first English speaking nation in the caribbean to qualify when they qualified to the 1998 World Cup.

SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON will be approached this week about becoming the £3million-a-year part-time boss of Jamaica.

The Jamaican government are backing their FA with the cash to bag a new coach.

A Reggae Boyz insider said: “This is serious. The Prime Minister will spend whatever it takes to get Jamaica into the World Cup finals.

“Sven is one of a number being considered and will be approached by the end of the week.

“If he indicates he is interested he will have a good chance of getting the job.”

Caribbean chiefs are happy to pay big money for the right man and would allow him to work for a club as well.

That would appeal to Eriksson, who is said to fancy a return to club football after stepping down as England chief.

It would also be a huge relief to the English FA who will have to pay Eriksson’s £5m-a-year wages until 2008 if the Swede fails to land another job.

The Jamaican FA believe attracting a world name like Eriksson could dramatically boost sponsorship of the national team and help the island’s tourism.

I cannot really see him moving to coach Jamaica,The runmours that i have heard are that he is set to be appointed the new coach of Real Madrid once the clubs elections are over...
