There are certainly a lot of high-quality titles lining up to be released in the second half of this year, especially in the fall season, right before the winter holidays, when, as we know, a lot of purchases are made, even though the economy isn't in the best shape.

One of the most anticipated such games, and which will arrive quite soon, namely in August, is id Software's Wolfenstein, the first next-generation title set in the famous universe of the first person shooter franchise, which made history almost 15 years ago on the PC. Set to be published by Activision, the game will put players in the shoes of B.J. Blazkowicz, who is forced to spoil the plans of the evil Nazis once more.

Heading to the PC, for both Windows and Linux users, and for the bigger consoles, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game looks extremely good from what we've seen up until now in trailers and screenshots. And for PC users who have been pondering on what specifications the title will require from their platforms, the forums of the game have answered, through community manager Peter Sokal, who reveals the minimum requirements.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP or Windows Vista(R) (Windows 95/98/ME/2000 are unsupported)
Microsoft DirectX(R) 9.0c (included & required for Windows XP & Vista)
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon(TM) 64 3400+ processor
RAM: 1GB RAM
Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA(R) Geforce(R) 6800 GT or ATI Radeon(TM) X800
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
HDD Space: 8GB (Plus an additional 800MB for Windows swap file)
Media: 100% Microsoft Windows compatible DVD-ROM drive

Overall, the game doesn't ask for all that much and the minimum requirements are certainly met by quite a lot of gamers and long-time Wolfenstein fans. Look forward to more news about it as we draw near its projected August 4 launch date.
