RAW Results - 1st February 2010

We are live from Nashville, Tennessee and your announcers are Michael ‘Why did they make me wear a red shirt tonight’ Cole and Jerry ‘TJ Hooker’ Lawler.

We begin with a graphic In Memory of Jack Brisco, the WWE Hall of Famer who passed away today.

The man who won the Royal Rumble starts things off and it is the Rated R Superstar. Edge has found a razor between his victory last night and tonight’s show. Edge gets a mixed reaction from the fans in Nashville. He says that he is back. He says that it feels good. He says that he is not just back in a WWE ring, he is back in the main event of Wrestlemania. Edge wants us to go back six months when he won the Unified Tag Titles with Chris Jericho and then he suffered an injury. Edge talks about what the doctors told him about his recovery. Edge says that he was sitting home about seven weeks ago and he saw the Slammys and he remembers watching Chris Jericho thanking him for getting injured so he could team with the Big Show. Edge says that he saw Chris Jericho making light of his injury and the room got very silent. Edge says it didn’t get silent because of Dennis Miller’s hosting job. It got silent because Edge made a vow and promise. He missed two Wrestlemanias due to injury and he is not going to miss a third. Edge says that he is the Ultimate Opportunist. Edge promised he would prove the doctors wrong and he would rehab harder than he ever did before and he did. He promised himself that he would be in the Royal Rumble and he would win it. Seven weeks later, Chris Jericho has a Slammy award and a mug shot on TMZ, but Edge reminds us that he has a ticket to the main event of Wrestlemania. He says that he can face any champion that he wants. Edge mentions that he faced the Undertaker two years ago in the main event and he lost. Edge says that unlike Shawn Michaels, if he wants the Dead Man, he can have them.

Edge asks if it is smart to go after the guy who is 17-0 in Wrestlemania or the guy who never wrestled at Wrestlemania. He can make a decision tonight or wait until after the Elimination Chamber pay per view. Edge says that this year the Rated R Superstar will headline Wrestlemania.

Sheamus’ music plays and he comes out to the ring and he has something to say. Sheamus says that Edge isn’t back five seconds and he is mouthing off. Sheamus says that a lot has changed. Edge says that Raw has been taken over by an evil Ronald McDonald. Sheamus tells Edge to watch his mouth. Sheamus agrees with Edge that he hasn’t been at Wrestlemania, but he was able to beat John Cena for the WWE Title. Last night, he defeated Randy Orton to keep his title. Edge tells Sheamus that he has made a career out of beating John Cena and Randy Orton. Sheamus reminds Edge that he has been sidelined for six months. Sheamus says that he will still be champion after the Elimination Chamber. Sheamus says that if he can beat John Cena and Randy Orton, he can beat Edge without breaking a sweat. Sheamus tells Edge to go to Smackdown so he doesn’t have his Wrestlemania moment ruined and he gets put back on the shelf . . . for good.

Sheamus hits Edge with the microphone and then he sets for the bicycle kick and Edge moves out of the way. Edge takes Sheamus down and he kicks and punches Sheamus. Edge takes off his jacket and then he waits for Sheamus to get up for the spear and Edge hits it.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

Rhodes with a kick and punches to Cena and then he slams Cena’s head into the turnbuckles and then kicks Cena in the corner. Cena with punches to Rhodes but Rhodes with a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Rhodes with another near fall. Rhodes with a punch to Cena followed by a neck breaker for a near fall. Rhodes with the Ric Flair knee drop for a near fall. Rhodes tries for another knee drop but Cena moves. Cena with the two flying shoulder tackles but Rhodes knows about the moves of doom and escapes the Blue Thunder Bomb and gets a near fall with a rollup. Cena remembers his moves of doom and hits the Blue Thunder Bomb followed by the five knuckle shuffle. Rhodes escapes the Attitude Adjustment and hits an elbow and then drops Cena on the mat with a front suplex and gets a near fall. Rhodes goes up top for the moonsault and he hits it but can only get a near fall. Cena with an Irish whip but he runs into a boot. Cena catches Rhodes and hits Attitude Adjustment for the three count.

Winner: John Cena

Backstage
Vince McMahon is walking in the back and Josh Mathews asks Vince if he saw Bret Hart tonight. Vince says that nobody has seen Bret Hart and it is likely that no one will see Bret Hart tonight.

Vince goes into his office and he turns around and he is surprised to see someone who barged into his office. He wants to know who that person is. He wants to know if Canadians have any manners. Vince tells him to say what he has to say and get it off his chest. We see that he is talking to William Shatner. Shatner tells Vince as only Shatner can (if he was doing a Kevin Pollack impression). Shatner says that as a Canadian and human being, he cannot wait for Bret Hart to embarrass Vince tonight.

We go to commercial.


Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Jack Swagger vs Triple H

Swagger with a waist lock take down and he rolls Hunter around the ring but Hunter gets to the ropes. Swagger acts like he accomplished something and then he does push ups. Hunter doesn’t like Swagger’s attitude and he punches Swagger. Hunter with the vintage Harley Race knee and then he clotheslines Swagger over the top rope to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Swagger with an Irish whip but he runs into a boot but Swagger with a wrap around DDT for a near fall. Swagger with an elbow drop and he gets a near fall. Swagger with an abdominal stretch but Hunter with a hip toss to escape the hold. Hunter throws Swagger over the top rope and if this was last night, he would have been eliminated. Hunter goes to the floor and Swagger sends Hunter into the apron. Swagger returns to the ring and Swagger hits a standing power slam for a near fall. Swagger with a reverse chin lock on Hunter. Swagger with a punch and then he does the double jump splash but he lands on Hunter’s knees. Hunter punches Swagger and Hunter with a face buster and a near fall. Hunter sends Swagger into the turnbuckles and he punches Swagger. Swagger runs at Hunter and Hunter with a spinebuster for a near fall. Hunter with a kick and it is almost pedigree time but Swagger with a back body drop. Swagger hits the double jump splash but he can only hit a two count. Swagger with a belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Swagger charges at Hunter and hits a running shoulder. Swagger gets Hunter up and he points at the sign but Hunter counters what Swagger was going to do and he hits the Pedigree for the three count.

Winner: Triple H

We are back with a William Shatner does the WWE Music spoken word commercial.


Backstage
Shawn Michaels is in his locker room and he must have missed Shatner’s performance because he is not smiling. Hunter wants to talk to Shawn and then Hornswoggle grunts for a bit. Hunter wants to know what Shawn was doing last night with the super kick. Hunter says that he wouldn’t have done it, but then says that he would have done it but didn’t have the time to do it. Shawn says that it wasn’t supposed to happen that way. Shawn says that he was going to win the Rumble, beat Undertaker and end the streak. Hunter tells Shawn that he is obsessed with that. Hunter tells Shawn that he is lucky he wasn’t suspended after what happened last night. Hunter tells Shawn that he needs to get into the Elimination Chamber match because one of them will be champion after the pay per view. Then they can tear the house down for the WWE Title. Hunter tells Shawn that he needs to beat Orton tonight.

Randy Orton comes to the ring and he takes so long we need to go to commercial mid-entrance.

We are back with the WWE Rewind: Sheamus defeating Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble thanks to Cody Rhodes’ interference. Followed by Orton freaking out on Rhodes and DiBiase.


Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton

Shawn and Randy stare at each other before locking up and Orton backs Michaels into the corner and Orton stares at Michaels. They lock up again and Orton looks at Michaels again and then he looks at the announce table. Orton misses a punch and Michaels with chops. Michaels with a swinging neck breaker followed by a boot to the head. Orton goes to the floor and Michaels chases after him. Orton tries for the IEDDT when Michaels returns to the ring but Michaels goes to the floor. Michaels goes up top and hits a cross body for a near fall. Michaels with a chop but Orton with an Irish whip and Michaels does the Michaels flip. Orton with the vintage back breaker. Orton stands over Michaels as he stares into the crowd. Orton with boots to the solar plexus. Orton punches Michaels and then he tries for another punch but Michaels with a block and punches of his own. Orton with a drop kick and a near fall. Orton with a reverse chin lock. Michaels punches Orton but Orton with a knee and forearm and he puts Michaels on the turnbuckles. Orton with a European uppercut to Michaels. Orton punches Michaels and tries for a superplex but Michaels with a forearm that knocks Orton off the turnbuckles. Orton goes back up and Michaels fights Orton off the turnbuckles again and Michaels with the elbow drop and then he sets for Sweet Chin Music but Orton avoids it. Orton tries for an RKO. Michaels escapes and hits reverse atomic drops followed by chops. Michaels with the flying forearm and a kip up but Orton with a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Randy Orton


After the match
Shawn throws a tantrum in the ring and the referee leaves so he does not feel the wrath of Shawn.

It is time for more ‘looking back at Montreal’.

We are back and it is 55 days until Wrestlemania 26 from Glendale, Arizona.

Cole and Lawler talk about the issues going on with Shawn Michaels.


Backstage
Randy Orton walks in the back and Ted DiBiase stops him to congratulate him on his victory. Ted apologizes for what happened last night. Orton stares at Ted and starts to mouth something but he cannot even talk so he slithers away.


Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Mark Henry vs Ted DiBiase

Henry pushes Ted down during the collar and elbow tie up. Ted with a side head lock but Henry with a shoulder tackle and body block. Henry clotheslines Ted over the top rope to the floor. Henry goes after Ted on the floor but Ted pulls Henry’s arm into the ring post. Ted with a drop toe hold to Henry that sends Mark into the ring steps. Ted with a leg drop to the arm followed by elbow drops. Ted with a near fall and then he returns to the arm with a key lock. Ted with a kick and then he tries for a single arm DDT but Henry pushes him off and hits a shoulder tackle. Henry with an Irish whip but he charges into a boot. Ted goes to the turnbuckles and Henry catches Ted but Ted escapes and he drops Henry on the top rope. Henry escapes Dream Street and Ted hits a single arm DDT after Henry misses a charge into the corner and gets the three count.

Winner: Ted DiBiase

We see Kofi Kingston and Big Show in split screen since they are in the qualifying match.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler talk about the passing of Jack Brisco and we see the graphic that aired at the start of the show. We have a video package remembering Jack Brisco.

We are back with the Slam of the Week: Gail Kim defeating Alicia Fox last week in the semifinals of the Diva Tournament.

Backstage
Kelly is with Gail in the back and Maryse walks by and she tells Gail that she knows that they are not really close but she is looking forward to their title match. Maryse says that she has been watching Michelle and Mickie and she says that it is a disgrace. Maryse says that they are acting like little girls. Maryse tells Gail that she wants to show everyone what women can do. Maryse talk in French as we go to the second intermission.

We go to Miz and Big Show in Shatner’s office and they have the Raw Nerve set in there. Miz tells Show that he knows that he will qualify. He tells Show that they are going to get a tag title match.

CM Punk, Luke Gallows, and Serena enter and Punk says that they were screwed out of their title match last week.

William Shatner enters and it is time for Raw Match Negotiator. Punk says that he is owed a tag title match. He wants to know what Show and Miz want. Miz points out that they are not even on Raw. William Shatner says that this is a dilemma. Shatner says that he is going to make a deal. Next week, there will be a triple threat match for the Unified Tag Titles.

Triple H is trying to pep up Shawn after his loss and he tells Shawn that he needs to move on. He says that Shawn is spiraling down. Hunter tells Shawn that he is Mr. Wrestlemania. He says that he does not need the Undertaker for that. There are plenty of men he can compete with at Wrestlemania. Shawn says that there is nobody else for him to face at Wrestlemania.


Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Big Show vs Kofi Kingston

Before the match starts, The Miz comes to the ring and joins Cole and Lawler. Kofi with a kick to the leg but Show pushes Kofi down. Show with a punch and head butt. Show with a forearm to Kofi followed by a knee and hip toss. Show charges at Kofi but Kofi moves and Show crotches himself on the top rope. Kofi with a drop kick that sends Show to the floor. We go to commercial.

We are back and Show with a forearm to the back. We see footage during the break when Show hit a spear on Kofi. We are back to live action and Show with a chin lock. Kofi punches Show but Show with a head butt and Kofi goes to the floor. Miz gets up from the announce table and he walks up to Kofi and has something to say to Show’s opponent. From out of nowhere, MVP attacks Miz through the crowd. Porter chases Miz to the back.

Show pulls Kofi onto the apron but Kofi drops Show on the top rope. Kofi goes up top but he trips. Kofi with a kick to Show that glances off Show. Kofi with a drop kick and a drop kick to the knee. Kofi with a kick to the head. Kofi with the boom drop for a near fall. Show goes into the corner and Kofi leaps for the punches on the turnbuckles. Show grabs Kofi and Show’s was having trouble seeing and Show punches the referee. Show throws Kofi out of the ring and then Show checks on the referee and he wants another one to come to the ring. The referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Kofi Kingston by disqualification


After the match
Show tells the new referee that he couldn’t see and he didn’t know what he was doing. He says that it was an accident. Show wants the medical staff to check on the referee. Show continues to plead his case but it is no use.

They get a stretcher for the injured referee while Show destroys the ring steps and pulls a Shawn Michaels on his way to the back.

We take a look back to the biggest night in the history of wrestling this year when Bret Hart returned to Raw.

Vince is walking in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back and we have our participants in the WWE Title match at Elimination Chamber.

Our guest host next week is Carl Edwards so there will be no right turns allowed.

Jerry Lawler is in the ring and he brings out the man who inducted him into the Hall of Fame, William Shatner. Shatner is joined by the returning Guest Host Arm Candy. Shatner wants to know if Lawler is okay. Shatner says that he has had a great time tonight. Now he gets to introduce a fellow Canadian, Bret Hart.

Bret comes to the ring. He says that it was a month ago that he was here and he has had a month to think about things and put everything in perspective. He came here for all the right reasons. Twelve years is a long time and it took him that long to come to Raw in open arms and try to make peace. People told him he was crazy and everyone warned him. Bret says that he was too naïve that he could put it all behind him. Bret admits that he was wrong and he says that it does not sit well with him. Bret says that he didn’t come here for peace or for closure. He came to talk to Vince McMahon face-to-face. Bret tells Vince to come to the ring or he will go find Vince in the back. Bret tells Vince that he doesn’t like to have to wait because it makes him madder.

Vince’s music plays and he comes out and he is having a spasm on the stage before he does the Vintage Vince Power Walk to the ring. Vince tells Bret that he wants to get a few things off his chest. He says that he never regretted a thing he has said or done to Bret. Bret congratulates Vince for finally being honest with him. Bret calls Vince McMahon the world’s greatest liar. He says that Vince lied to him in Montreal, he lied to him when he was kicked in the gut last month, he lied to him when Vince said that he was proud of Bret, and he lied when Vince said he was like a father. Bret mentions John Cena’s comments last week when he called Vince pathetic. Bret says that he knows about pathetic. Bret mentions that it was eight years ago that he was in a wheelchair after suffering a stroke. Bret says that he remembers sitting in that chair feeling pathetic. He said that he would get out of that wheelchair and he would never feel pathetic again.

Bret says that he came here last month for all the right reasons, but Vince kicked him in the gut and he felt pathetic. Bret says that he worked for Vince for 14 years and he did everything. Bret says that he thought Vince would appreciate it some time. Bret says that it took him twenty years to build a reputation and Vince only needed three minutes to destroy it. Bret says that he has enough flavor left in his ‘piece of chewing gum’ to kick Vince’s ass.

Vince hems and haws and he tells Bret that he wants to be honest with Bret. Vince goes through all of Bret’s nicknames and then he calls it all a crock. Vince makes a face after talking about how Bret is considered a Canadian hero. Vince says that Bret is not a hero to anyone. Vince says that he doesn’t know what it is about Bret that the people support him. Vince says that the people love him, but he thinks that Bret is pathetic. Bret has zero personality. Vince compares Bret to his opponents who had a personality and then says that if it wasn’t for them, Bret would be a footnote in the midcard. He says that Bret has no charisma, no command of the English language, a hound dog looking face, stringy and crappy hair, and he dresses like a hobo. Vince has some more to say. He tells Bret that while Bret and him know it, Bret deserves to be screwed. Vince says that he has one thing to say. Vince said that he told Bret that he was thinking of nominating Bret’s father Stu for the Hall of Fame. Vince says that isn’t going to happen because Stu doesn’t deserve it.

Bret kicks Vince and then it turns into a hockey fight as he pulls Vince’s jacket over his head and Bret punches Vince some more. Bret tries to put Vince in the Sharpshooter, but Batista comes to the ring and he stops Bret. Batista punches Bret and then he holds Bret for Vince and Vince yells at Bret and then spits in Bret’s face.

We go to credits.
