A welterweight clash between season five winner of “The Ultimate Fighter”, Nate Diaz and heavy hitter, Rory Markham has been signed to go down at UFC 111 on March 27th in Newark, New Jersey.

The UFC officially announced the bout today meaning Diaz’ decision to move up a weight class is now set in stone.

The fighter from Stockton has been struggling lately in the 155 pound division, losing to the likes of Joe Stevenson and Gray Maynard, and has decided to retain much of his natural body weight to make him more competitive at 170 pounds.

Markham returns to the octagon after an injury nightmare year. The last time we saw him was at UFC 95 last February where he was knocked out in the first round by now number one contender, Dan Hardy. Knee surgery prevented him returning in January to take on Martin Kampmann at UFC 108
