    Default UFC 115 main card coverage

    i'll be posting updates on the fight throughout the night
    so enjoy discuss, debate and go chuck lol

    Carlos Condit vs Rory Macdonald

    Round 1:
    missed first 2 minutes but when my stream started working rory got a takedown with condit defending
    the attempted strikes well condit gets up and gets pushed against the cage rory caught condit causing
    his nose to bleed condit lands kicks on mutiple occasions. rory catches a kick and attempts a takedown but condit
    stuffs it but condit trys again and gets taken down i score it 10-9 for macdonald due to all the takedowns

    Round 2:
    they touch gloves to start round 2 and exchange hooks condit slips and macdonald lands on top and gains side control but condit gets up macdonalds lands a uppercut hook combo and condit returns a 2 punch kick combo condit is trying to gain the middle of the cage stream cuts out and now rory on top and condit gets up. rory lands a 2 puinch combo and fans cheerin for him since he is a bc guy condit lands knee to head both exchange jabs, condit lands a good leg kick and front kick but rory front kick hims back knocking him down i score it 10-9 macdonald

    Round 3:
    condit gets takedown and rory is in trouble condit mounts but macdonald reverses it tp half guard condit landing heavy elbows froom the top and macdonald is bleding macdonald gets the fight standing and the fans cheer condit lands a combo and a takedown macdonald is fading and his eye is swelling badly and condit lands elbow after elbow to the eye it looks like his orbital bone may be broken rory kicks him off but condit jumps back on and mounts macdonald condit landing lots of shots but he needs to finish the fight macdonald keeps kicking condit off trying to keep condit away condit landing heavy strikes and the ref stops the fight with 10 seconds left and the fans boo chant bullshit over and over

    Ben Rothwell vs Gilbert Yvel

    Round 1: my dtream cut out so heres the mmajunkie coverage for now
    Yves Lavigne oversees the action. The b ig boys touch gloves, and it's Rothwell charging forward with punches . He tags Yvel several times, and when Yvel charges back with a big bolo, he gets a quick takedown. Rothwell quickly gets side mount, then mounts Yvel. Yvel reverses and stands over Rothwell. Rothwell quicks the Dutch fighter away and rights himself. He quickly nabs another takedown and passes to side mount once again against the cage. He's trying to pass, but he decides instead to threaten with an Americana. Rothwell gets knee on belly position briefly, and fires down a few short right elbows. Rothwell works for a crucifix and Yvel scrambles up to his feet. But he can't stay there long before Rothwell takes him down and mounts him against the cage. Yvel is sitting up with the wall at his back until Rothwell flattens him out and starts with elbows. Just like Yvel's fight with Josh Barnett, he is struggling from the bottom. Then, all of a sudden, he grabs Rothwell's foot, and we're in business. But Rothwell scrambles out and quickly locks in a crucifix position. Yvel again scrambles out and get to his feet where he tags Rothwell with a left hand. The two are swinging sloppily for the fences, but it's the best moment of the fight for Yvel. Yvel backs off a clinch with a high kick. Rothwell lands a knee in close to end the round. They can't keep this pace up. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 for Rothwell.

    Round 2 - The two gassed men meet each other at the edge of the cage, and Yvel throws a sloppy leg kick before Rothwell charges in and dumps him to the mat. The former IFL heavyweight easily gets side mount again and punches Yvel's body. Yvel attempts to scramble, but he gets only a moderate respite in re-gaining half-guard. He tries to reverse again and is mounted. Rothwell with a nasty series of right elbow from mount. Rothwell gives up mount and Yvel quickly gets to his feet. The two are leaning on each other, more for rest than position. Rothwell grabs the Dutch fighter's legs once again and dumps him. Yvel reverses and lands some bigs punches from overhead. Rothwell is badly rocked, but he's not giving up. As Yvel postures for a big punch, Rothwell gets up and drives for a takedown. He meets no resistance. Rothwell lands in half-guard and works his right arm. He mounts Yvel easily and delivers another couple of left elbows as the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 for Rothwell for a second frame.

    Round 3 - The two quickly spill to the canvas in the opening seconds of the round, and Rothwell is on top once again. Yvel threatens an arm, so Rothwell passes easily to side mount. Yvel attempts to lock up Rothwell's head with his legs, but "Big Ben" stays in side mount. Rothwell works for crucifix, then gets mount. He can't keep it long, though, and the audience boos as the two wrestle tiredly at the edge of the cage. Rothwell leaps over Yvel's guard and works for an Americana. He gives the arm up and postures to throw punches. Again, he traps Yvel's arms and locks in a crucifix. His right elbow hammers Yvel's face. Still, both men are putting on a C-level grappling display at best. Rothwell is completely dominating, but he can't do anything to put Yvel away. And Yvel, a former kickboxer, knows just enough to stymie the action. Rothwell is flinging his right arm down at Yvel to end the final frame. MMAjunkie.com scores the frame 10-9 for Rothwell, which should him the 30-27 victory.

    Paulo Thiago VS Martin Kampmann

    Round 1:Referee Herb Dean officiates the fight. No touch of the gloves for these welterweights. Kampmann with a jab. Thiago stalks in. They paw at each other trying to find range. Kampmann with a nice straight right counter to Thiago's kick. Kampmann again counters with right hand as Thiago advances. Kampmann with a jab. Kampmann with a leg kick. And again, Kampmann nails Thiago off a kick. Action sparse in this fight. Thiago lands his first shot of the night in an exchange with Kampmann. Kampmann with a jab and a folio up right. Thiago catches a leg and Kampmann struggles away. Thiago misses with a punch and dual high kicks. Kampmann catches Thiago with another right hand and Thiago again shoots for a leg. Kampmann's leg gets swept out from under him against the cage and hints at a guillotine from half guard. Instead. he uses the position to reverse, but Thiago quickly gets him to the mat again. Kampmann gets up quickly though and works for a choke. Thiago scrambles to get out of it and nearly gets caught in another guillotine as the round closes. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 for Kampmann.

    Round 2: Round 2 - Kampmann paws in with a jab, then he fires a leg kick. Both men seem hesitant. Thiago nearly lands an uppercut in an exchange but catches a glancing punch. Thiago goes big with a right hand, but Kampman charges in with a bodylock. Thiago breaks off and swings for the fences. None of them connect cleanly. Thiago shoots for a takedown and Kampmann expertly keeps posture and takes Thiago's back in an ensuing scramble. He can't, however, gets his hooks in, so he settles for half-guard and hints at an arm triangle as Thiago rolls to his hands and knees. Thiago traps Kampmann's left arm and the action once again stalls. Audience getting restless. Kampmann is clearly concerned about the kimura. He should be because Thiago uses it to roll him over and take half-guard. Thiago lands a few punches but can't keep Kampmann there. Kampmann springs up and catches his head as the two spill to the mat at the close of the round. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 Kampmann.

    Round 3 - Final frame underway in a somewhat lackluster fight. Both men seem hesitant to let it all go. The two trade hooks and lock up, but it's Kampmann who once again gets top position when the fight goes to the mat. Kampmann postures up, then stands over Thiago looking for a big punch. Instead, he gets caught in Thiago's legs. The next time he stands, though, he gets to the Brazilian's side and looks for an arm triangle. Thiago defends and Kampmann resorts to looking for a rear naked choke. Thiago drives forward but Kampmann sprawls and stuffs a single-leg attempt. Kampmann pops off a knee as Thiago rights himself and gets another headlock as he gets back on top. Thiago finally escapes the tactical stalemate of a position and fires off a big right hook. It isn't long, though, before Kampmann has him back on the mat. Kampmann again threatens an arm triangle and tries to transition to back mount when resistance arrives. Thiago's defending the submission attempts well, though, and Kampmann runs out of time. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 and the fight 30-27 for Martin Kampmann. Martin Kampmann def. Paulo Thiago by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

    MIRKO "CRO COP" FILIPOVIC VS. PAT BARRY

    Round 1 - Yves Lavigne is the third man in the cage for this battle of strikers, and gets a round of boos for his trouble. Barry charges in with a punch, but MIrko rebuffs him. They clash again, but nothing lands Barry with a leg kick. Filipovic with a punch. Barry drops Filipovic with a punch, but lets him up. Barry ducks under a straight left but let's Filipvic re-center. Barry with inside leg kick. "Cro Cop" leading with his straight left. Barry gets in another leg kick. Barry misses with a punch. "Cro Cop" throws a hook kick and misses badly. Barry switches stances, then he misses with a punch. Barry drops "Cro Cop" again with a right hand, but he lets the former PRIDE star up. Action stalls. The two men trade hard body kicks. Cro Cop again with a hook kick. Barry misses with high kick. Barry with a blancing punch as "Cro Cop" goes for the legs. They clash again but nothing connects. Jab misses for Barry. Barry with a leg kick. Barry check's Cro Cop's return. Barry ducks under punch and the two lock up. Cro Cop takes Barry down. It looks like he has the fighter in trouble until Barry throws a high kick to back Cro Cop off. Barry is smiling widely. They two share a hug in the center of the ring. It appears to be a friendly session of face-punching. Barry misses with a high kick as the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 for Barry based on the punches.

    Round 2- Barry takes a blocked high kick, then another from Filipovic. Barry leaps in and gets caught with a body kick. "Cro Cop" follows with a flurry of punches that greet blocked. Barry's hands are way down. "Cro Cop" misses with a side kick. Barry feinting with jabs. Filipovic punches in and the two tie up against the cage. "Cro Cop" attacks Barry's thighs with his fists. He sweeps Barry to the ground briefly and again punches the thighs. Barry with a body shot. Filipovic misses with a return punch, but lands a body kick. "Cro Cop" with a glancing side kick. Barry misses with a high kick and gets caught in a front headlock position. Filipovic uses it to roll the striker onto his back at half-guard. Barry struggles to get up. Action stalls out. Filipovic takes full mount. Barry rolls over and gives his back. Filipovic has hooks in and his punching as Barry tries to escape. Filipovic nearly gets his arms cinched for the choke, but the round ends with Barry basically sitting into his idol as the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 for Filipovic.

    Round 3 - The two hug again to start the round. Filipovic with a high kick that gets blocked. Filipovic lands a glancing straight left. He follows with an axe kick to Barry's neck. The two lock up after Barry misses with a one-two, and Filipovic throws a knee. They break off, and Barry floors Filipovic with a low kick as Filipovic goes high with a kick of his own. "Cro Cop" with a jab. Barry with a leg kick. "Cro Cop" misses with another approach of punches. Barry checks a low kick. Barry with a big left hand. But he nearly eats an uppercut inside. Filipovic lands an uppercut and hook on the way in, and the two lock up against the cage. They trade elbows in close. Action has slowed. Lavigne separates them. Filipovic backs Barry up with a flurry punches and drops him with one particularly hard shot. Filipovic has Barry against the cage and his punching away with his left hand, prompting Lavinge to get within striking distance of a stoppage. But the ref shows restraint, and Filipovic transitions to Barry's back, where he cinches in an arm-only choke. Barry taps out after very little struggle. The official time is 4:30. Mirko Filipovic def. Pat Barry by submission (rear naked choke) - 4:30, Round 3.

    RICH FRANKLIN VS. CHUCK LIDDELL

    Round 1 - Both fighters paw their jabs. Franklin lands first with an inside leg kick and then ducks from punches. Franklin lands another kick, and Liddell lands one of his own. Franklin lands a left punch and blocks one. Liddell throws a low kick. Franklin clinches and tags Liddell with a couple punches on the break. Liddell, though, answers with a couple crisp body kicks. Franklin answers with a low kick as the fighters remain in the center of the cage. The fighters trade punches, and each connects. Liddell shoots and scores a takedown that's aided by Franklin's slip as he retreats. Liddell tries to pass guard, but Franklin uses an effective butterfly guard and quickly gets to his feet. The fighters clinch on the way up, and Liddell shows a big gash above his left eye that may have resulted from a headbutt. The fighters again trade low kicks as Liddell shows no effects from the cut besides a stream of blood. The fighters patiently circle, and Liddell lands a low kick. Franklin counters with a nice one-two combo before moving out of range. Franklin backs up Liddell with another low kick. Liddell answers and knocks Franklin off balance with a crisp low kick. Liddell thinks about moving in and eats a punch and opts to reset while Franklin gets his leg back. Franklin throws a soft body, checks a head kick, and pops Liddell with punches. Liddell moves in with punches with Franklin against the cage. Liddell chases with a lunging left, and Franklin ducks and pops him with a huge right to the chin that instantly knocks out Liddell. Liddell hits the mat, and Franklin initially pauses before dropping another shot. Liddell, though, is clearly out, and the fight is halted after a brutal knockout. Rich Franklin def. Chuck Liddell via KO (punch) - Round 1, 4:55.
