Default Possibly Great News for TNA Rating!

TVbytheNumbers.com is reporting TNA Impact drew 1.645 million viewers last night for the episode headlined by Abyss vs. Tommy Dreamer. I believe that is the strongest viewership the series has had since returning to Thursday nights after the Monday Night experiment.

The website is reporting the episode drew a 1.0 Household rating and a 0.5 among adults 18-49.

We have not independently confirmed these numbers yet.

    OFFICIAL THIS WEEKS RATING

    1.2

Early indications are that last night's episode of TNA iMPACT! drew 1.65 million viewers on average over the two-hour show, which would be the highest viewership TNA has achieved since February 18 of this year. The rating and quarter-hour numbers are not yet available.

UPDATE: The actual rating for TNA iMPACT! was a 1.22 (1.2), the highest rating since the February 18 show. The main jump in the ratings was in the male 12-17 demographic, which jumped from a 0.97 to a 1.21. The rating among males 18-34, 18-49, and 12-34, as well as the overall adult 18-49 demographic, did not increase and in some cases even dropped.

As noted Friday here on the website, Thursday's episode of iMPACT! scored a 1.22 (1.2) cable rating, its highest rating since February 18th. Overall, the show drew 1.65 million viewers. Much of the ratings increase can be attributed to the the male 12-17 demographic, which scored a 1.21 compared to last week's 0.97. Overall, viewership was up nearly 15 percent compared to last week's 1.06 rating. It was also up 22 percent compared to the program's average rating of 1.00 since
returning to Thursday nights on May 13.

The 8/13 TNA Whole F'n Show edition of Impact did a 1.15 rating with 1,524,000 viewers. That is down from last week's 1.21. I think I can already hear a cell phone at The Gold Club calling Nashville.

The debut of TNA Reaction did a strong 0.87 rating with 1,140,000 viewers. I think I can hear that same cell phone
    making another call to Nashville.

For the record, Impact was awesome this week and I liked Reaction a lot too.

The 8/19 edition of Impact did a 0.97 rating, with 1,350,000 viewers. That is down from the 1.15 that company did for their Whole F'n special last week, and down from the 1.2s that the company was doing as their built up to the Hardcore Justice PPV. I wonder what Eric Bischoff will write about on his website this week. Maybe focus groups need to be chosen more carefully perhaps?

Reaction also dropped this week more precipitously than Impact, doing a 0.62 rating and 824,000 viewers. Last week's debut did a 0.87.

The official rating is not out yet, but last night's episode of TNA iMPACT! was not in the top 50 cable shows last night. The lowest-rated show on that list scored a 0.98 rating. That means it's not good news.

The show scored a 0.71 rating in both the 18-34 male and 18-49 male demographics, which were the lowest for the show in the last 5 weeks. The rating for males 12-17 was down to 0.85, compared with a 1.19 last week. The show was up against another series-high rating for Jersey Shore.
