I think he's only taking a time off & will comeback in a few months. Jericho is still passionate about wrestling & he's not planning on quitting as he said in recent interviews.

i can see this as a way to give jericho a much needed break from wwe to rest up and possibly build toward a fued between jericho and orton at wrestlemania.
