The Briscoes beat Austin Aries & Rhett Titus after hitting the Doomsday Device on Rhett Titus. A really good opener to the show, got the crowd nice and hot to start the show.

Kyle Durden is out to interview Christopher Daniels. They are addressing his upcoming World Title shot in Toronto, which was announced for the first time tonight. Daniels says "you may think you have the truth, but in this ring, gospel trumps truth," which I thought was great line. Homicide interrupts the promo, and apparently still has a low opinion of Cornette calling him a "gringo." Memory Lane: Homicide and Jim Cornette had major issues leading up to Homocide's title match at Final Battle 2006.

ROH World TV Title Match: Eddie Edwards successfully defends against the Necro Butcher pinning him with a small package. Crowd said to be very vocal in their support of Edwards and disapproval of the Embassy.

Davey Richards defeats Shawn Daivari with a cloverleaf. Prior to this match, there was a slight delay, presumably for Nana and Ernie Osiris's wardrobe change, which led to Nana wearing his robe with the head through an armhole.

Cornette is in the ring now with Roderick Strong and Truth Martini to talk about Final Battle and his match with Richards. Strong made the point of saying that he was World Champ after 6 months with Martini and he was nothing in seven years with anyone else.

Daizee Haze vs. Sara Del Ray battled to a 10 minute, time-limit draw. Crowd said to be flat for this one.

TV Main Event: The Kings of Wrestling defend the World Tag Team titles after hitting the European/Death Blow combo on Jon Davis. Clean victory, no elbow pad or interference.

Intermission Dark Match: Bobby Dempsey, Andy Ridge, & Mike Sydal defeated Colby Godwin, Bobby Shields, & Slyk Wagner Brown w/ Sly Stetson when Dempsey pinned Godwin with a bridging fallaway slam.

During the intermission, Kyle Durden and what I assume to be a SHIMMER trainee were in and around the ring tossing merchandise into the crowd. Upon closer look, it was mostly older, discontinued shirts. A guy near me got a What Would Larry Sweeney Do? shirt.

Winner Gets A TV Title Match: Colt Cabana rolls up Erick Stevens for the win after a failed interference attempt from Nana & Osiris. So, we have Cabana vs. Edwards tomorrow night.

Kevin Steen defeats Grizzly Redwood. Steen had Generico's mask with him and was using it like a puppet during his entrance. He eventually put the mask on Grizzly before hitting the package piledriver. Post-match, Steen challenges Generico to a match at Final Battle. If Steen wins, Generico unmasks in front of the crowd. If Generico wins, Steen leaves ROH. Generico comes out in an all black mask and accepts

Kyle O'Reilly & Adam Cole, in their first match together in ROH, defeated The Bravado Brothers via guillotine choke by O'Reilly on Harlem Bravado. Good stuff for a first time tagging up.

Homicide's first opponent in ROH is... Tony Kozina, who he defeats with the Cop Killa.

Holiday Gauntlet:
Jay Briscoe & Steve Corino draw #'s 1 & 2. Briscoe wins via schoolboy. Corino gets a few shots in before leaving. Christopher Daniels is next. He checks on Jay to see if he's okay to go and shakes hands before they go. Daniels advances, and there's another handshake before Jay leaves. Rhett Titus is next out. Daniels wins with a BME. Davey Richards is out next. Richards wins with a headkick. Very back and forth action. Claudio Castagnoli is out next with Del Rey and Hagadorn. Richards reverses a Riccola Bomb into a sunset flip to win. Chris Hero is next. Richards wins with small package while Hero is putting on the gold pad. Post-match, KoW get some shots in and elbow shot with the pad. Roderick Strong is last and beats Davey after the Sick Kick to win the Holiday Gauntlet. Roddy and the Truth celebrate with the $10,000 check. A lot of false finishes throughout Davey's time in the match, and tons of crowd support for him during the Hero and Strong matches.

Notes: ROH needs to up the start time to 7 or 7:30 for these tapings if they want the full house. 10:30-11pm comes, and there's an exodus of families with children. No new merchandise at the stands that I noticed, but the new Embassy shirt has to be my favorite ROH shirt ever, awesome in its simplicity. Great, action with a bit of a different feel from the Pearce era.
