Emmy Rossum has revealed she and Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz split up two months ago but says they remain on good terms.

"We're still very close friends," Rossum, 24, tells USA Today.

The two were first linked in the fall of 2009 after they'd been spotted together multiple times. As a couple they remained relatively quiet, but Rossum did reveal she originally met Duritz, 46, through Twitter.

Rossum, who says she's single, split from her then-husband Justin Siegel in August 2009.

Next up for Rossum: her new Showtime series, Shameless, which begins in January. Says Rossum: "This is happiest I've ever been in my whole life."
