He's saying that real wrestling died with WCW because when WCW died, so did any competition WWE had and thus WWE started getting complacent, so in that regard he makes a point.

And to stay on topic... good for the Briscoes, lol. I do hope they each get a singles run sometime soon though, because there's very little for them to do as a team in ROH anymore.
