    by Anoop Gantayat

January 26, 2006 - That wait for more Final Fantasy XI is about to end. Square Enix has announced a final release date for both the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XI and the PS2 and Windows Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion.

First, the Xbox 360 version, which is currently undergoing beta testing throughout the world. Square Enix is planning a worldwide simultaneous release (Europe, North America and Japan) for the game on April 20. In Japan, the game will ship exclusively in an "all in one" package that includes the main FFXI game along with the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion. Pricing in Japan is set at 8,190 yen. To use the Xbox 360 version, you'll have to register for a Play Online account and sign up for a free Xbox Live Silver Membership account.

The PS2 and Windows versions of Treasures of Aht Urhgan will also be released worldwide on April 20. Those who currently have FFXI (the two current expansion disks are not required) will be able to purchase Treasures of Aht Urhgan on its own, with the PS2 version costing 4,179 yen and the Windows version set at open pricing. The "all in one" package will be offered for the PS2 and Windows, with pricing set, respectively, at 8,190 yen and open.

We've yet to hear from Square Enix on pricing for the US versions of these titles, but expect details shortly. Stay tuned!
