This week marks a milestone for By the Numbers because we have reached fifty-two issues. That means that it has been an entire year that I have been doing these columns. It is convenient that WWE has decided to hold their 600th episode of Smackdown on this week to add a little extra to this column. In addition to the 600th episode of Smackdown, we also completed a full year of NXT.

After fifty-two weeks of doing this column, we finally broke through the seven thousand minute barrier and the thirteen hundred match barrier with this week’s totals.

This week saw WWE Raw break the fourteen hundred minute barrier to solidify its second place spot behind WWE Smackdown which was unable to break through the fifteen hundred minute barrier despite having the longest match of the week. If they would have matched their average over the past year, they would have hit that number. WWE Raw remained the only show to have more than three hundred matches and had almost twice as many matches as Ring of Honor.

Ring of Honor and WWE Superstars continue to dominate the categories for average match length and average amount of wrestling per hour with these being the only shows to have more than twenty minutes of wrestling per hour (no other show broke fifteen Minutes per hour), or an average match length of more than six minutes.

Before I get into this week’s numbers, make sure to check out a special edition of Beyond the Numbers with a slightly detailed look back at the last year from Raw, Smackdown, Superstars, NXT, Ring of Honor, and Impact.

Here is a brief preview of what you can see in Beyond the Numbers:
Total Amount of Wrestling: 7,067 Minutes
Total Number of Matches: 1,305
Average Match Length: 5.42 Minutes
Average Amount of Wrestling per Hour: 14.97 Minutes

Now it is time to take a look at the week that finalized the numbers I have already provided.

The wrestling times below cover the wrestling that takes place during the show so commercials are not included. All times are rounded to the closest minute (examples: a 4:23 match will be listed as 4 minutes while a 4:32 match will be listed as 5 minutes and anything under a minute is rounded up to a minute).

Because the Rock’s promo went fifteen minutes past the scheduled time, this is being considered a three hour Raw for the purposes of these numbers
