UFC's next trip to Montreal not set, despite previous announcements

A date for the UFC's next trip to Montreal is not set, according to UFC President Dana White.

UFC Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright recently announced that the promotion would hold an event on March 16, but White said "we'll see what happens" when pressed about a quick return to the Quebec city.

"Tom's getting a little aggressive over there," White said with a chuckle.

A UFC official today told MMAjunkie.com that events still are likely for Montreal in March and Toronto in September, but declined further comment.

Wright announced the Toronto date for Sept. 21. Venues for the proposed 2013 shows weren't named.

Although not a sellout, this past weekend's UFC 154 generated a $3.14 million live gate at Montreal's Bell Centre. The event featured the long-awaited return of top pay-per-view draw and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

The UFC has held a total of five events at the venue, which holds up to 23,000-people. All have generated multi-million dollar live gates.

Since 2010, the UFC has held three live events per year in Canada.
