Default Whittaker, Fletcher, Scott and Alloway Each Score $25K "TUF" Season Bonuses

WHITTAKER, FLETCHER, SCOTT AND ALLOWAY EACH SCORE $25K 'TUF' SEASON BONUSES
BY MMAJUNKIE.COM STAFF ON DEC 15, 2012 AT 2:40 AM ET

GOLD COAST, Australia – "The Ultimate Fighter: Team Australia vs. Team UK" contestant Ben Alloway might not have taken home the show's welterweight crown, but he left far from empty-handed.

Alloway was awarded a $25,000 bonus for the best fight of the season on the reality show in addition to the $40,000 he banked for "Knockout of the Night" at UFC on FX 6. His opponent on the show, Brad Scott, also took home $25,000.

In other bonuses, Robert Whittaker, who won the welterweight reality show tourney, and Colin Fletcher, the lightweight runner-up, each earned $25,000 bonuses for KO and submission of the season, respectively.

UFC official Marshal Zelaznik announced the bonuses at the post-event press conference for UFC on FX 6, which took place at Gold Cost Convention Centre in Gold Coast, Australia. The event's main card aired live on FX following prelims on FUEL TV.

Alloway wowed the UFC on FX 6 audience with a front kick-KO of Rodriguez late in the first after struggling in the grappling department of the fight.

Alloway fought a knockdown, drag-out fight with Scott in the semifinals, but Scott advanced with a split decision.

Scott, in turn, lost a unanimous call to Whittaker in the finals on Saturday.

During the season, Whittaker delivered two first-round stoppages with his fists, knocking Luke Newman and Xavier Lucas out of the tournament. It wasn't clear which one won him the bonus, though his KO of Newman took but 19 seconds.

Fletcher earned his bonus with a modified keylock of Richie Vaculik in the semifinals. He was unanimously outpointed by Norman Parke in the final.
