Former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski (19-9) picked up his fourth consecutive win after edging Bellator veteran Mike Hayes (18-6-1) this past weekend in Moscow.

The heavyweight bout headlined "Fight Nights: Battle of Moscow 9" on Sunday.

The Belarusian-born Arlovski fought in Russia for the first time since 2000.

The three-round fight was largely a standup affair, and Arlovski was often the aggressor and landed a few more punches and kicks. He also scored a few takedowns, though both competitors faded a bit and became flatfooted as the fight wore on. Hayes put together some sustained attacks in the third, but Arlovski quickly countered with a series of left hands.

Ultimately, Arlovski got the victory via unanimous decision.

Two years ago, the 33-year-old Arlovski closed out his Strikeforce career on the heels of a four-fight losing streak, which included defeats to the likes of Sergei Kharitonov, Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva and Fedor Emelianenko. However, he's undefeated since then with four wins and a no-contest (Arlovski hit Tim Sylvia with an illegal kick at ONE FC 5).

Hayes, meanwhile, has suffered back-to-back losses since a 10-1 run that included winning the Cage Warriors heavyweight title. Back in June, he lost the belt to D.J. Linderman.
