Capcom Vancouver – responsible for Dead Rising 2 – has announced that it's working on a new game. And it won't feature zombies.

There's relatively few concrete details on the new title but the studio's website does state that it won't be a re-imaginging of an existing Capcom property, in the style of Ninja Theory's DmC. The site says:

"Capcom has one of the industry’s greatest back catalogs but for our next project we’ve been given the opportunity to create Capcom’s next big game."

The page goes on to drive recruitment for the new project, saying that the studio is "just getting started with game", so don't expect to play it anytime soon.

The page finishes by saying that the game will NOT feature zombies. So they aren't alluding to Dead Rising 3, which is also rumoured to be in production. There is also no suggestion whether this game is being developed for current or next generation consoles.

Do you want to see publishers tackling old properties (in the style of DmC) or funding new IPs like Remember Me? Or is balance the only way forward? Let us know in the comments below.
