With roughly 27 hours to go before Wednesday's 3 p.m. ET NHL trade deadline, the hottest name in the marketplace is one of the NHL's oldest players:

Here are the players creating a buzz in advance of the deadline:

1. Jaromir Jagr (Dallas Stars): He's 41, but he has 14 goals and 26 points in 34 games. Could the Stars actually get a better return on Jagr than Calgary got on Iginla? It's certainly possible because there aren't many sellers in the marketplace and several teams are looking for scorers. The Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings are known to have interest, but there are other teams.

2. Miikka Kiprusoff (Calgary Flames): The Toronto Maple Leafs have been given permission to talk to him, and there are other interested parties. Kiprusoff, 36, has this season and next season left on a contract with a cap hit of $5.833 million per season.

3. Roberto Luongo (Vancouver Canucks): The Canucks have said publicly there are multiple interested teams, but the Canucks seem to want more for Luongo than the Flames want for Kiprusoff.

4. Everyone on the Buffalo Sabres: The organization has indicated that every player is in play, and Jordan Leopold and Robyn Regehr have already been dealt. Jochen Hecht could go to a contender. There has been speculation about the possibility of goalie Ryan Miller, 32, or forward Jason Pominville, 30, being moved. Pominville has one season left at $5.8 million and Miller has one season left at $6.25 million.

5. Ryane Clowe (San Jose Sharks): He's a potential unrestricted free agent and he sat out Monday night so he didn't get hurt.
