Facebook has launched free voice calls for Android users starting today. Now, Facebook users can call other Facebook users for free via Facebook Messenger.

Also now all iOS and Android users in the US can Facedial their friends.

As VoIP finally is available to all Android and iOS users in its home country, users don't need to check what device their friends have.

To making a VoIP call in Messenger all you need to do is to click the 'I' icon on the profile of the person and then tap "free call".

Previously VoIP for Android was available in 23 other countries.

The app uses smartphones' Internet connections to make the call, either through a Wi-Fi network or 4G networks.(even 3G networks)

Users don't need to update the Messenger app to use the free voice calling feature as long as users havev seperate Facebook Messenger app.

Facebook also rolled out a feature named Chat Heads earlier this month for both its iPhone Facebook app and for Android on its Facebook Home interface.

Apple on the other had already has its own Phone app on the iPhone, and its iMessage apps on different platforms.
