EA has confirmed that DICE is making Star Wars Battlefront.

The game was revealed during the publisher's E3 press conference today with a brief video showing a spacecraft being shot down and the game's logo.

EA recently opened a new DICE studio in LA for Star Wars projects. The office currently plays home to EA employees who worked on the Medal of Honor series while at Danger Close, as well talent recruited from outside the company.

DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson said he wants to add 60 staff to the studio by the end of 2013, and makes no secret of his hope to acquire the best talent from other studios. Particularly in reference to the Encino based Activision studio Infinity Ward, he said: "It's no secret that our main competitor is there".

"There is an extreme talent pool over [there] that we want a part of," Troedsson added.

As well as Sweden-headquartered Battlefield maker DICE, Visceral Games and BioWare are also set to develop Star Wars games following the recent agreement of a multi-year deal between EA with Disney.
