Crytek has confirmed that Ryse: Son of Rome is an Xbox One launch game.

Microsoft re-revealed Ryse at its Xbox E3 2013 press conference, showing off the game for the first time since its initial unveiling at E3 two years ago, when a trailer revealed that it'll be set in ancient Rome and feature brutal first-person combat.

Following a lengthy new gameplay demo of the title which revealed it's now a third-person action affair, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said players will step into the boots of Roman general Marius Titus.

Ryse will offer "controller-based gameplay enhanced by Kinect," according to Crytek's website. Every Xbox One unit will ship with a next-gen Kinect sensor.
