Microsoft Studios general manager Dave McCarthy has revealed an ambitious world-building game called Project Spark.

Already bearing a philosophical resemblance to Sony's LittleBigPlanet, McCarthy said the title offers "an infinite number of ways to play build and share".

Showcasing the game at Microsoft's press conference at E3, McCarthy demonstrated how he could engage with a level editor using his voice (via Kinect). He then proceeded to change the finer details using tablets across SmartGlass.

As well as building worlds, the game also incorporates challenges and action sequences on command.

Project Spark is due for release on Xbox One and accessible on Windows 8. A release date was not confirmed.
