Microsoft has just confirmed Killer Instinct for Xbox One.

The game was revealed moments ago at the firm's pre-E3 press briefing.

Little was revealed, with MS only showing a short video introducing Jago, Saberwolf and others, with a gritty, realistic look.

Rare's fighting series has been out of action since Killer Instinct Gold, released on Nintendo 64 in 1996.

The original Killer Instinct was a huge hit on Super NES, known for its fast-paced, dark fighting style with a focus on long combos and brutal finishing moves.
