Welterweight veteran Ryan Ford has signed a multi-fight deal with World Series of Fighting’s Canadian branch and is expected to debut under the WSOF banner in early 2014.

Sherdog.com confirmed the signing with a promotion official on Thursday, though an exact date for Ford’s WSOF debut was not revealed.

The Las Vegas-based organization will make its first trip north of the United States border this Saturday, when WSOF 7 takes place at PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia. The event’s main card airs live on NBC Sports Network and is headlined by a featherweight title confrontation pitting Georgi Karakhanyan against Lance Palmer.

A former Maximum Fighting Championship welterweight title contender, Ford has won nine of his last 10 bouts and will take a five-fight winning streak with him into his WSOF debut. The 28-year-old Bellator alum competed twice this year for the now-defunct Aggression Fighting Championship, knocking out Brendan Tierney in March before submitting “Ultimate Fighter 16” alum Mike Hill this past July to capture the AFC welterweight title.
