WWE automatically extended Rey Mysterio's contract for another year because of a clause that allows them to do that if a talent misses a certain amount of time due to injuries.
There are still concerns whether or not Rey will be returning to action for WWE. He has reportedly stopped cashing any of his WWE paychecks, which could be a sign that he plans on taking action to get out of his deal.

lol I do not see how not cashing in the paychecks would make any difference at all. He is still under contract because of the clause.

Please let him go...WWE eants to keep him for two reasons:
a - little kids LOVE Mysterio and his merch was the 2nd biggest one after Cena, so there's some legit money for the company IF RM comes back some day
b - keeping him under contract doesn't give another company (TNA, Mexiko's bigger wrestling promotions) the chance to land him and get attention
