TNA XPLOSION REPORT



We begin tonight™s show with the video package that aired at the end of No Surrender that announced Kurt Angle™s arrival in TNA.

Your hosts are Jeremy Borash and Christy Hemme and they welcome everyone to Xplosion. Jeremy talks about the aftershocks of No Surrender. Christy talks about how her favorite match was the Fan’s Revenge Match and she reminds us that Samoa Joe took the title belt after the match. Christy also talks about the new tag team champions, Christopher Daniels and A.J. Styles. Jeremy and Christy then talk about the big announcement at the end of the pay per view. Jeremy mentions that other wrestling companies might promise something big, but they do not deliver. This time TNA did deliver. Jim Cornette announced the move to prime time as well as the signing of Kurt Angle. Jeremy talks about Bound for Glory on October 22nd. He mentions that not only does Jeff Jarrett have to worry about Samoa Joe possessing the title belt, but he also has to worry about his match with Sting at Bound for Glory.

Match Number One: Lance Hoyt versus Jeff Jarrett in a non-title match

Jarrett attacks Hoyt from behind and Jarrett sends Hoyt into the guardrails at ringside. Jarrett rolls Hoyt into the ring and then Jarrett whips Hoyt with a leather strap. Jarrett throws Hoyt over the top rope to the floor. Jarrett brings Hoyt to the announce table and he slams Hoyt’s head into the announce table and then he follows that with a chair shot to Hoyt’s midsection. Jarrett continues to decimate Hoyt by throwing him into the crowd. Jarrett chokes Hoyt and then he sends Hoyt’s head into the wall. Hoyt is tossed back into the ringside area. Jarrett returns to the ring and he gets the strap and he whips Hoyt one more time. Jarrett chokes Hoyt with the strap but he does not release the hold so the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Lance Hoyt (by disqualification)

After the match, Jarrett gets on the mic and he tells Cornette that he has to be kidding him. Booking him in a match with Lance Hoyt will not make him forget about what happened at No Surrender. Jarrett takes off his shirt to reveal the marks that remain on his back from the Fan’s Revenge match. He says that he was beaten like a trade slave at No Surrender. While some might have done it, he is holding everyone responsible. To add insult to injury, Samoa Joe walked away with the title. Jarrett gives Cornette the chance to do things the right way. He tells Cornette that by the end of this week’s show, he better have the belt in his hands. If not, Samoa Joe will be in a pool of his own blood.

We go to the Bound for Glory Press Conference hosted by Jim Cornette. Cornette says that TNA is moving to a new level. Not only will Impact be on in prime time, but Bound for Glory will be the biggest pay per view. Cornette announces some matches that will be at Bound for Glory. There will be a Monster’s Ball match featuring Samoa Joe, Raven, Brother Runt, and Abyss. Senshi will face Chris Sabin for the X Division Title. He also talks about the main event featuring Sting versus Jeff Jarrett. Jim Cornette talks about the acquisition of Kurt Angle, and he will let everyone know what Angle’s role will be at the pay per view. Cornette opens the floor for questions.

Match Number Two: Samoa Joe versus Raven

Joe and Raven stare each other down at the start of the match. Joe pie faces Raven and Raven returns the favor. Joe punches Raven and Raven does the same to Joe. Joe with a chop and Raven responds with a chop. Raven with jabs and a discus clothesline. Joe with knees and kicks followed by an enzuigiri and Raven is caught in the ropes. Joe with a kick to Raven’s back and Raven goes to the floor. Joe sets up for a suicide dive but Raven gets a chair up and he hits Joe with it.

We see Jeff Jarrett in his locker room watching the match.

We return to the ring and Brother Runt comes to the ring and he puts a chain around Raven’s neck and he hits a neck breaker on Raven. Joe puts Raven in the choke and Raven taps.

Winner: Samoa Joe

After the match, Brother Runt gets into the ring and he tells Joe to move out of the way. Joe pushes Runt and Runt tells Joe to move and then Runt slaps Joe twice. Joe slaps Runt and then he presses Runt over his head and he throws Runt onto Raven. Abyss comes to the ring and Joe and Abyss battle in the ring. Joe with a running kick that sends Abyss over the top rope to the floor. Abyss and Raven battle outside the ring and Brother Runt jumps on top of Raven as the three men battle towards the announce table.

Jim Cornette confronts Joe and he asks Joe to give him the belt. Joe refuses to give Cornette the belt and he tells Cornette to have Jarrett or Sting get it back. We go to commercial.

We are back with Christy and Jeremy and they are joined by Eric Young. Eric wants to borrow a mic and he gets up to the camera and mentions that there are times when you need to ‘put up or shut up’. Eric tells everyone that he needs their help. He wants everyone to pledge that they will help Eric. He needs all of the help that he can get. Christy asks Eric if he needs any help, but he runs away.

Match Number Three: A1 versus Lance Hoyt in the Xplosion Xclusive Match of the Week

Hoyt and A1 have some words at the start of the match and A1 pushes Hoyt away. Hoyt returns the favor and A1 tries for a shoulder tackle but Hoyt does not budge. A1 tries again, but he gets the same result. A1 with a clothesline as Hoyt comes off the ropes. A1 tries to punch Hoyt, but Hoyt moves out of the way and Hoyt punches A1. A1 tries for a hip toss, but Hoyt blocks it and he responds with a short arm clothesline and a slam. Hoyt with a side slam for a two count. Hoyt punches A1 followed by a flapjack and A1 goes outside the ring to regroup. Hoyt goes out after A1 and he punches A1 and slams A1’s head into the guardrail. A1 with an Irish whip that sends Hoyt into the guardrail as we go to commercial.

We are back and A1 rolls Hoyt back into the ring and he connects with a series of shoulders in the corner followed by a snap mare and rear chin lock. Hoyt with elbows to A1, but A1 with a rake of the eyes. A1 tries for a suplex but Hoyt blocks it. Hoyt comes off the ropes but A1 with a kick and he follows that with a suplex for a two count. A1 with forearms to Hoyt’s back and a bear hug. Hoyt gets out of the bear hug and he punches A1. A1 tries for a cross body but Hoyt catches him and Hoyt hits a face first uranage for a two count. Hoyt with a pump handle power slam and then he goes up top but he misses a moonsault. A1 with a cover but his feet are on the ropes so the referee stops the count. A1 misses a charge into the corner and Hoyt tries for the big boot but A1 moves out of the way and Hoyt appears to graze the referee. A1 with a low kick while the referee is incapacitated and then he follows that with a side slam for the three count. We go to commercial.

Winner: A1

We are back with footage from the Christian/Rhino match from No Surrender along with their comments before the match.

We return to the press conference where Rhino addressed his medical condition. He was told not to wrestle for twelve weeks, but he will not do that. He has a score to settle with Christian Cage. He will not sit on the sidelines in his home town and watch it pass by. Things will be done his way. It will be an 8 Mile Street Fight where anything goes. He says that there will only be one man standing and it will be him.

Match Number Four: Team 3D versus Brandon Thomaselli and Vaughn Doring

The match begins and Brother Ray and Brother Devon attack their opponents, sending one of them out of the ring. Brother Ray with a side slam while Brother Devon simultaneously hits a leg drop on Thomaselli. Devon with an Irish whip and a splash in the corner followed by a clothesline. Thomaselli with a punch and Doring tags in. Devon with a running shoulder tackle to Doring and Ray is tagged in. Doring gets a double flapjack and then Brother Ray hits a German suplex on Doring and then he hits a running boot that knocks Thomaselli off the apron. Team 3D gets the victory with 3D.

Winners: Team 3D

After the match, Team 3D get on the mic with Brother Ray addressing the crowd. He says that they are back. He reminds everyone who they are. They said that they would be leaving for a few months to get refocused on the NWA World Tag Team Titles. When they got back, the promoters and office said that since they have won tag team gold eighteen times, tell them when they want their shot. Brother Ray says that they want their shot when they earn it. They plan on doing this the right way, the old school way, the way pro wrestling was meant to be. Consider them to be the new guys on the block again. They will work their way up the ladder to the top. Tonight, their revolution continues and Team 3D’s quest for the NWA World Tag Team titles has just begun. It is time to testify.

We are back with comments from Lex Luger about Sting. He talks about Sting’s amazing career. Buff Bagwell talks about how Sting has been all over wrestling magazines during his career. Luger talks about Sting’s legacy. He never went to a competitor. Bagwell says that things did not end very well for Sting in WCW. Luger says that Sting wanted to come back to a show with class. He wants to continue to build on what is going on in TNA.

Jeremy Borash is in the back with Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett yells at someone to come over to the interview area. Eric Young arrives. Jarrett tells Eric that he is a man of second chances. He says that Jim Cornette is not going to be able to get Jarrett his belt back so he is going to Plan B and that involves Eric Young. Jarrett tells Eric that he humiliated him over the past month. Jarrett says that Eric has turned his fans against him; and had him be part of a bogus polygraph test. He is fed up with Eric Young so tonight is his night of redemption. He wants Eric to walk up to Samoa Joe to slap the taste out of his mouth or take the belt from Joe’s bag. Eric says that he cannot do that. Jarrett says that he will deal with Eric later tonight and he leaves. Jeremy asks Eric about turning over a new leaf by standing up to Jarrett and telling him no, but Eric denies doing that.

Before the match begins, Christian Cage comes out to join Don and Mike at the announce table. Christian talks about how he is going to take care of Rhino at Bound for Glory and then he calls Rhino his ‘man bitch’ and he says that he wishes that Rhino would come down to confront him.

Match Number Five: Alex Shelley, Johnny Devine, and Senshi versus Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Chris Sabin

Lethal and Shelley start things off and Shelley with a drop toe hold. Both men work on the arm and they go to the mat and each does a kip up. Shelley tags in Senshi while Dutt tags in. Senshi misses a chop but Dutt does not.

While the match goes on, Rhino comes out and he heads for Christian at the announce table, but he is stopped by security. We go to commercial.

We are back and Senshi gets a two count on Dutt, but the focus is on what is going on between Rhino and Christian by the announce table. Rhino starts to leave the area, but it was only a ruse as he goes after Christian and he punches Christian. Christian escapes to the back.

Back to the action in the ring as Devine hits a snap suplex on Dutt. Shelley tags in and he runs his boots across Dutt’s eyes. Devine tags back in and he drives Dutt’s head into the mat. Devine with an Irish whip and he tags Shelley back in. Shelley with double running knees into the corner. Shelley with an Irish whip but he misses a charge into the corner when Dutt moves. Dutt hits a springboard drop kick and then Sabin and Devine are tagged in. Sabin with clotheslines to Devine and then he sees Shelley try to interfere but he stops Alex and hits an enzuigiri. Sabin with a DDT from a back breaker position for a two count and all six men are in the ring. Lethal and Senshi exchange chops before going outside the ring. Dutt with a drop kick to Shelley’s knee followed by an enzuigiri. Dutt tries for the Asai DDT, but Shelley escapes the hold and he hits a running drop kick. Senshi kicks Sabin followed by an Irish whip. Senshi charges into a back kick by Sabin. A suitcase is thrown into the ring and Sabin tries to hit a bulldog onto it but Senshi pushes Sabin away. Dutt hits a satellite head scissors that sends Senshi out of the ring. Devine tries to hit Sabin with the suitcase but Sabin ducks out of the way. Lethal with a missile drop kick and Sabin gets the three count on Devine.

Winners: Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal, and Sonjay Dutt

We return to the press conference after footage from the Ultimate X match at No Surrender. Jim Cornette says that because of what happened with A.J. Styles in Mexico City, the NWA World Tag Titles will be defended in a Six Sides of Steel match. Konnan says that they like to put up barriers to keep them out of the country. Now A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels will be in a cage in their world of LAX violence. They will show that gringos have no heart and no pantelones. We go to commercial.

We are back with Jeremy and Christy and they are talking about Bound for Glory. Jeremy asks Christy about the Knockouts DVD and Christy mentions that it is available in stores. Jeremy talks about how Samoa Joe won his match against Jeff Jarrett and how he possesses the title belt. Shark Boy enters the interview area with the Bound for Glory t-shirt and Shark Boy gives it to Christy. Christy plays with Shark Boy’s fin and then she leaves with Shark Boy.

Jim Cornette is in the ring with Buff Bagwell and Lex Luger. Cornette says that there is a major announcement to be made, but first he wants to introduce a few wrestling legends, Buff Bagwell and Lex Luger. Cornette says that they have been with Sting and have been training with Sting. They say that Sting is in the best shape of his career to get ready for Bound for Glory. Cornette says that the landscape of professional wrestling will change at Bound for Glory because of the ‘Title versus Career’ match. He thinks that this will be the night that Jeff Jarrett loses the NWA World Title to Sting. Everyone has been talking about TNA’s newest acquisition. What will be his involvement at Bound for Glory? At Bound for Glory, Kurt Angle will be the special ringside enforcer.

Jeff Jarrett comes to the ring and he does not appear to be in a good mood. Jarrett reminds Cornette that he gave him until the end of the show to get the title back. He says that it could be done the easy way or the hard way. It looks like it needs to be done the hard way. Cornette stops Jarrett and relays what Joe told him earlier in the night. Jarrett wants to know if Cornette is the boss and lead authority figure, or is he just another impotent authority figure. Jarrett grabs Cornette but Bagwell pulls Jarrett off Cornette. Jarrett wants to know who invited Bagwell and then he punches Luger and Bagwell. Bagwell punches Jarrett but Jarrett sends Bagwell over the top rope to the floor.

Samoa Joe comes out and he attacks Jarrett but Jarrett fights back and we go to credits.
