On Monday, former UFC veteran turned alleged contract killer, Amar Suloev, died following a lengthy battle with Stage 4 stomach cancer.

Suloev received months of medical treatment in a Moscow hospital before requesting to return to his childhood home in Anapa last week.

Suloev fought for such promotions as the UFC, PRIDE, Cage Rage and BoDog Fight, competing against the likes of Chuck Liddell, Chael Sonnen and Phiil Baroni, while training at the Red Devil Fight Club alongside the likes of Fedor Emelianenko.

After retiring in 2013, Suloev made headlines as he was part of a gang that was charged with attempted assassinations of political figures in Russia. He would go on to spend three years behind bars. He would be released from prison in February of 2016 on bail, where he was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
