Piper DVD Cover Art, J.R. Talks TNA, Brooklyn Brawler

The cover art for the upcoming three-disc Roddy Piper DVD is out. Interestingly, it features a shot of him taunting Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 19 in Seattle.

Jim Ross continues to churn out the blog entries as he has posted three of them in the last two days. He gives his personal take on this week's episodes of RAW and ECW. He also answers some fans' e-mails. He talks about TNA quite a bit in the e-mail response entry. Click here to check them out.

Grappler Locks Up Toy Glory

He paid his dues for 25 years on the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) circuit and next month, Steve Lombardi will take his place among the biggest stars ever to step into the ring.
An action figure of Lombardi's WWE alter ego, the Brooklyn Brawler, is coming to toy shelves over all the world in October. He already has the prototypes at his Oceola Township home. One figure with a beard and another without stand on his piano.

The Brooklyn Brawler figure will be released as part of the Classic 12 series of famous WWE wrestlers such as the Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Captain Lou Albano, Killer Kowalski and Arn Anderson.

"It's very flattering for them to approach me for this figure," Lombardi said. "It's a weird feeling. How many action figures sold in Howell are of local residents?"
Several months ago, Lombardi flew to Malibu, Calif., to Jakks Pacific, the toy company designing the Classic 12 WWE series. The company wanted to design an action figure of Lombardi in all of his early 1990s glory, wearing his trademark ripped-up New York Yankees shirt, jeans and a beard.

"They scanned my head on a machine because they wanted to be as realistic as possible," Lombardi said. "It was like a head scan you would get if you went to the hospital."

Lombardi has had the longest career as a wrestler among those still active in the WWE. He wrestles occasionally, but he mostly works behind the camera, producing the interview segments of WWE shows. He travels extensively from his home to be at all of the pay-per-view events and "Raw" and "SmackDown!" TV shows.

He said every single person at every location he flies to asks about his action figure. Whether it be on the road or right here in Livingston County, Lombardi said he would be willing to sign any action figure that someone brings to him.

The action figure should be available at any toy section at many major retail stores such as Wal-Mart.
