1. Starts the show at 10AM with the usual "Don't Go Messin' With A Country Boy".

2. Hillbilly says howdy friends, neighbors & welcome, says if you're from the East Coast, Canada or anywhere, he's proud to have you on board & says if you're a new listener, you won't want to miss this show because later on he'll have Bobby "The Brain" Heenan as a guest: www.bobbythebrain.com . He'll also later talk about Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake on his "Backstage Pass" segment, says cousin Spike's not here this week & says after the break, he'll explain as to what happened to him.

3. Plays Hank Williams Jr.'s "Dixie On My Mind", The Marshall Tucker Band's "Windy City Blues", Asleep At The Wheel's "Ch'oo Choo Ch' Boogie" & George Jones' "She Thinks I Still Care".

4. Hillbilly feels that "She Thinks I Still Care" might be George's best version next to Elvis Presley's version of the song. He says Spike's not here this week due to a fishing accident with Spike having a "fish on his lip". He says he don't know what Spike was doing with it on his lip, says he'll ask Uncle Percy Mandoberg who'll give a comment on it, says Spike has a set of rules that he lives by & that's why he's with Spike weekly. He then says this band's called The Flatlanders & says for those that don't know who they are, they're a supergroup of songwriters & musicians from Texas & says those guys are iconic. He says the band has Jimmy Del Gillmore, Joe Ely & Butch Hancock who has formed this group in '72. He says they've been performing on & off since then & this tune by them is something that y'all will like.

5. Plays The Flatlanders' "Dallas", Marty Robbins' "El Paso", Delbert McClinton's "Squeeze Me In" & Bob Dylan's "Country Pie".

6. Hillbilly says "Country Pie" is from the album "Nashville Skyline", then plugs his email hillbillyjim@sirius-radio.com & his toll free request line 877-33-SIRIUS & press #63. He says his show's all about you & he learns some good things about tunes that he didn't know about. He says this guy [Charlie Rich] who's had quite a career, says he's had some of the biggest hits in the country charts & before that, he was kind of an underground type of guy in Memphis, Tennessee. He says he was a session player for many years, says in Memphis he was a session player for Judd Records & that company was owned by Judd Phillips who's Sun Records' Sam Phillips' brother.

Hillbilly says this man played lots down there but was an awfully slick player who was told to find his own vibe that'll fit the rock & roll vibe, as well to drop the jazzy feel & turn it around. He says this guy's done that, says the rest's history & says he became 1 of the biggest stars of all time.

7. Plays Charlie Rich's "I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water", BR5-49's "There Stands The Glass" & Kindy Friedman's "Before All Hell Breaks Loose".

8. Hillbilly says if Kinky becomes the Texas governor, all hell will break loose & suggest for those in the Texas area should vote for him: www.kinkyfriedman.com . He says when people hear the name Kinky they think it has something to do with his lifestyle, but says he got the name from his friends who called him Kinky do to his frinzy hairstyle. He says he saw this band [Los Lonely Boys] playing at a club in Texas around the same time Wrestlemania 17 was done, says he thought they were a great band & became friends with them & brought them to the Houston Astrodome were WM17 was being held & says he's still friends with them today.

Hillbilly says Los Lonely Boys are still touring: http://snipurl.com/xo2j , says if they come into your area you should go see them & says he's always said that you go out & support live music.

9. Plays Los Lonely Boys' "Diamonds", The Flying Burrito Brothers' "Wheels", The Kentucky Headhunters' "Hey Good Lookin'" & Jimmy Martin's "Grand Ole Opry Song".

10. Hillbilly says "Grand Ole Opry Song" is bluegrass right there & it'll make you think about the mountains & stuff, says the weather's getting cooler & hopes for a nice Fall. He again says Uncle Percy Mandoberg will be on & hopes to talk about Spike's condition & again says Heenan will be on later.

11. Plays Todd Snider's "Beer Run", Eric Clapton's "Tulsa Time", Billy Joe Shaver's Hillbilly Jim promo, Billy Joe Shaver's "When The Word Was Thunderbird", The Highwaymen's "Live Forever".

12. Hillbilly says he's feeling good, says the weather in Kentucky's getting strange with some thunder, lightning but everything's cool & hopes you're feeling good. He says this next person [Warren Zevon] is someone that we lost about a year ago & says this tune of his is a good 1.

13. Plays Warren Zevon's "Dirty Life & Times", Steve Earle's "Nowhere Road", Wayne Hancock's "Going Back To Texas" & Tanya Tucker's "Texas [When I Die]".

14. Hillbilly says every time he hears Tanya's voice, it takes him back to a fun time during his wrestling days when up & down the road, he'd be listening to songs like that on the radio & he'd think about his wrestling buddies. He then talks about Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke Hogan: www.brookehogan.com sang the National Anthem at Nascar's Dover 400 event [this past Sunday], which's called the "Monster Mile": www.doverspeedway.com that racer Jeff Burton won: www.jeffburton.com . He says she sung on the event & did a wonderful job, then plugs her album "Undiscovered" that's out 9/26 via the internet [NOTE FROM JEFF: actually it's her single "About Us" that can be bought via Itunes: http://snipurl.com/xo5d ] but it'll be out to the public 10/24: http://snipurl.com/xo62 .

Hillbilly says Brooke's got talent & her dad Hulk was at the event also because he was the Honorary Starter, who's someone that gives the command to start the engines. He says he may try in the next few days to see if he can get Hulk on his show. He says he'll get Hulk to talk about what he's been doing with his reality show ["Hogan Knows Best"]: http://snipurl.com/xo7l as well as talk about Brooke who's as sweet as she can be. He says he's got a wrestling theme this week & wants to play a tune by 1 of the greatest wrestlers of all time [Classie Freddie Blassie], says he's gone now & what a manager & hopes to talk about him with Heenan later.

15. Plays Classie Freddie Blassie's "Pencil Neck Geek", Charlie Daniels' Outlaw Country promo, The Charlie Daniels Band's "The South's Gonna Do It Again" & Red Foley's "Night Train To Memphis".

16. Hillbilly says Red Foley was born in Blue Lick, Kentucky in 1910 & has sold millions of records from the '40's to the '60's. He again plugs his email & toll free request line & again says he'll talk about Beefcake on his "Backstage Pass" segment later. He says he'll now play a tune by this guy [John Cougar Melloncamp] who's from Seymour, Indiana & was influencial of Farm Aid: www.farmaid.org .

17. Plays John Cougar Melloncamp's "Small Town", Wayne Walker's "Bo Bo Ska Diddle Daddle", Son Volt's "Looking At The World Through A Windshield" & Merle Haggard's "Movin' On".

18. Hillbilly says "Movin' On" is dedicated to truckers out there & tells them to be safe & careful while driving. He says it's time for his "Backstage Pass" & it's about Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake: http://snipurl.com/xnzv & says there's a cat that has had a gimmick with those scissors that'll cut the hair for you. He says he's doing well now & starts from the beginning by saying that Beefcake's real name is Edward Harrison Leslie Jr., who's cut his teeth in Florida & was Hulk Hogan's good buddy. He says both Beefcake & Hulk were partners a long time ago, were roommates, got in the business together as "brothers" as Terry [Hulk] & Dizzy [Beefcake] Hogan.

Hillbilly says he remembers that it was Beefcake's 1st gimmick in the WWF back then with Hulk, says Beefcake did that for a while & had a little bit of a claim, but didn't get over till he got to WWF as Brutus Beefcake. He says in '84 Beefcake's manager was Lucisous Johnny Valiant, who teamed Beefcake with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine who's 1 of the greatest of all time. He says both won the WWF tag titles & held them for about a year, says in '87 he & Valentine was "The Dream Team" & were really good but they broke up afterwards. He says Beefcake got "The Barber" name after the Roddy Piper vs Adrian Adonis match at Wrestlemania 3 & since Adonis lost in that hair vs hair match, that's when Beefcake came in the ring & cut Adonis' blonde locks.

Hillbilly says after that Beefcake became "The Barber" who strutted with big giant sheers & says those were the type that you'd trim your hedges with, but they were made to look like candy canes & looked like a cross between Santa Claus would carry & some sort of a psycho yard guy. He says Beefcake had quite a career by spending his time in the ring, then had some injuries that slowed him down in his career [aka the July 4 1990 boating accident where he got plates & screws in his head via surgery]. He says after that, Beefcake went to WCW & changed his character [LOTS OF TIMES] over there & says after a while he had some "personal problems" in his life.

Hillbilly says wrestlers are like real people, says they not only have a show business side but a real life that occurs 24/7 & says Beefcake got into some things that gave him some "bad publicity" [NOTE FROM JEFF: such as getting caught with cocaine at where he worked at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority]. He then says Beefcake was quite a character in the business & got along with him, says he loves him & is a good guy who treated him good all the time. He says he saw Beefcake recently at an autograph show [11/19/2005 at "Fan Slam"] in [Totowa] New Jersey, says both saw each other & says Beefcake looks happy as he can be.

Hillbilly says Beefcake's working [for a supply company] in Massachusetts, is married [wife's name is Barbara] & has a family & has settled down good. He says Beefcake cut quite a path for himself in wrestling, says he's this week's "Backstage Pass" & says he'll to bring more like this for his "Backstage Pass" that'll be insightful. He says he'll now play a song ["Take This Job & Shove It"] that was written by David Allan Coe, but was made famous & award winning by Johnny Paycheck.

19. Plays Johnny Paycheck's "Take This Job & Shove It", Johnny Cash's "Wanted Man", The Derailers' "Under Your Spell", The Band's "Jemima Surrender", Rodney Crowell's Hillbilly Jim promo, Rodney Crowell's "Leaving Louisiana In The Broad Daylight" & Doug Kershaw's "Louisiana Man".

20. Hillbilly says "Louisiana Man" is for folks in San Antonio, Texas, says after his show's Cowboy Jack Clement with Alamo Jones & Shooter Jennings' shows: www.sirius.com/outlawcountry . He says he'll play a tune by this guy [Ray Charles] who's been called a genius by Frank Sinatra & others.

21. Plays Ray Charles' "Born To Lose", Buddy Miller's "Somewhere Trouble Don't Go", Loretta Lynn's "Rated X" & Ray Wylie Hubbard's "Cooler-N-Hell".

22. Hillbilly says Hubbard knows how to deliver & write a song, again plugs his email & toll free request line & says after the break, he'll have Uncle Percy Mandoberg.

23. Plays Ozark Mountain Daredevil's "Keep On Churnin'", Woody Guthrie's "Hard Travelin'", The Morells' Lou Whitney's Hillbilly Jim promo, The Morells' "Big Guitar" & Rhett Miller's "Singular Girl".

24. Hillbilly says Miller's got quite an unmistakable voice, says whenever he thinks of voices he thinks of the high, lonesome sounds & likes to talk about Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin & others from the bluegrass world. He says he also thinks of this next band [Jim & Jesse] who're brothers & says that brother harmony can't be beat. He says he's heard these guys for many years, says they always stayed true to music, says both are from Virginia, says 1 of them's a mandolin player & the other's got probably the most high, lonesome tenor voice that you'd ever wanna hear. He says he remembers when he 1st heard them & says their sound's great & this song's a diesel type song.

25. Plays Jim & Jesse's "Diesel On My Tail", Bill Kirchen's "Truck Stop At The End Of The World" & Hank Williams III's "Things You Do To Me".

26. Hillbilly says he don't know how to say this but he's having technical problems in Mud Lick, again says Spike's not there due to a fishing accident as well as having some weather problems that's making the phone lines not work. He says he'll have to postpone Percy's appearance on the show this week & hates that because he wanted to know about what's going on in the woods & waters. He says this phone problem will also affect Heenan's appearance from coming on this week & says if he can't have the problem fixed, he promises to do it right next week & may have a very special guest as a makeup for what happened.

Hillbilly says he can't do anything about Mother Nature & wanted to hear Percy & says to keep the Uncle Percy memory going woods & water style, he'll play a fishing tune by Jason Allen's "John Boat Blues".

27. Plays Jason Allen's "John Boat Blues", The Allman Brothers Band's "Stand Back", Charlie Robison's "A Poor Man's Son", Bobbie Gentry's "Fancy", Hank Williams Jr.'s Hillbilly Jim promo & Hank Williams Jr.'s "Born To Boogie".

28. Hillbilly says "Born To Boogie" is from the boxset "The Bocephus Box", says it's time to get over this weather that's knocked down his life & is surprised that he can still broadcast his show. He again says the storm's knocked down the phone service, hopes to fix it as best as he can & says he promises his show will sizzle the rest of the way out. He says he'll make sure by putting in some extra things that'll make it work real dog gone good, then talks about a fan named David who emailed him & told him that he listens to his weekly show, loves the tunes that he plays & tells him that it takes him back to his wrestling days.

Hillbilly says that David asked him if there's any plans for a Hillbilly Jim DVD in the future, Hillbilly says he's heard some talk about it & says this week they just put out the Hulk Hogan [Ultimate Anthology] that's really cool [NOTE FROM JEFF:I believe it won't be out till October 16: http://************/kxmra ]. Anyhow he says if he gets anymore info about a Hillbilly Jim DVD, he promises to mention it & says he'll now play a song by a group [Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers] that he saw at Sturgis' "Rock & Rally".

29. Plays Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' "Mary Jane's Last Dance", Junior Brown's "My Wife Thinks You're Dead" & Tex Williams' "Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! [That Cigarette]".

30. Hillbilly says he's former & still a hillbilly, says he's enjoying himself as much as he can, gives a shout out to Spike & says he'll play tunes for him.

31. Plays Charley Pride's "Is Anybody Goin' To San Antone", Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses", John Cena's Hillbilly Jim promo, Marty Stuart's "Burn Me Down" & Johnny Cash's "The Mercy Seat".

32. Hillbilly says Cash's timeless & it's from the album "American III:Solitary Man", says "Wild Horses" was for Joyce Jones from St.Louis, Missouri & says the 1 thing about music that's different than sports, is that when you play sports & you get to be a certain age where you can't do it anymore. He mentions if you're a great basketball guard for the New York Knicks in the 60's, you can't go back & play with the guys of today because it's a little bit different than back then due to a physicality thing. He says music's different because it always does him good when he sees an iconic & legendary guy who's the builder of rock & roll, when he can combine his abilities with a different type of band or someone that was influenced by them.

Hillbilly says that's what he's leading to now which has a great tune by Jerry Lee Lewis & Jimmy Page from the "Duets: Last Man Standing" album. He says this is a version of a Led Zeppelin song & says to hold onto this for "The Killer" & Jimmy Page.

33. Plays Jerry Lee Lewis & Jimmy Page's "Rock & Roll", Bobby Lord's "Everybody's Rockin' But Me", Ryan Adams' "New York, New York" & Rebel Meets Rebel's "Heart Worn Highway".

34. Hillbilly says "Heart Worn Highway" is from the album "Rebel Meets Rebel": http://snipurl.com/xoeo , says the late Dimebag Darrell, David Allan Coe & says that was something else. He says earlier he talked about Jimmy Page & Jerry Lee Lewis teaming up, says he loves it when icons team up with younger guys which refreshes it, makes it good & real. He again plugs his email & toll free request line & talks about what happened to Dallas Cowboy receiver Terrell Owens: www.terrellowens.com, who had to go to the hospital & stay overnight for either a overdose or some people say it was an attempted suicide. He says there were lots of things & strange impressions of that on the news.

Hillbilly says Terrell himself came on the TV & said he didn't try committing suicide but had a "problem with his supplements". He says he [Hillbilly] has taken lots of supplements in his time like most people in the sports world's done, says vitamins don't give you a problem like that & says it ain't the vitamins, supplements or protein powders that you take, but feels it's probably vicodins, pain pills or muscle relaxers that you take. He says Terrell always seems to be on a merry go round in a circus of things as well as having a $25 million contract that he lives for, says that'll make Hillbilly tow the market & do the right thing but you don't know what's going on in these guys minds.

Hillbilly says that brings him to this song ["I Ain't Livin' Long Like This"] that the late Waylon Jennings made popular & says this song's dedicated to Terrell.

35. Plays Waylon Jennings' "I Ain't Livin' Long Like This", Creedance Clearwater Revival's "Up Around The Bend" & Steve Earle's "Goodbye's All We Got Left To Say".

36. Hillbilly says the clock on the wall that's working & wasn't struck by thunder or lightning tells him that he's got to go, again apologizes for the problems due to his area having huge thunderstorms. He thanks fans & his producer Steve Popavich Jr., wishes Spike a speedy recovery & hopes to have Percy on next week. He again plugs Clement's show & says next week before his show, listen to Fred Imus' show: www.sirius.com/outlawcountry . He says he ain't here for a long time, he's here for a good time & says this guy [Bob Seger] has a new career going again & is out touring: http://************/fb8b2 . He was about to play Bob Seger's "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", but the Cowboy Jack Clement show started at 2:01PM.
