James Ellsworth has had numerous championship opportunities in recent years. He wrestled AJ Styles on Smackdown for the WWE Championship and he most recently challenged current NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis, unsuccessfully as well.

Ellsworth has now created his own championship belt, however. One he plans on defending all across the independent scene.

RT!! I will be defending the "World Inter-gender Championship" all over the world! More on this later this week bookellsworth@gmail.com #DUH pic.twitter.com/tpVMk8BHUV

Ellsworth spent his final few months in WWE wrestling superstars from the Smackdown women’s division. It only makes sense he would take this gimmick to the independent scene.

He is not the first world inter-gender wrestling champion, however. That title belongs to Andy Kaufman who declared himself the inter-gender champion in the late 1970s.
